Open roof assembly for use in a vehicle and a method for operating same

An open roof assembly for use in a vehicle roof of a vehicle comprises a moveably arranged closure member for selectively covering or at least partially exposing an opening in the vehicle roof. Further, an electric motor operatively coupled to the closure member is provided for moving the closure member. A control unit is operatively coupled to the electric motor for controlling the closure member. The control unit is configured to control a position of the closure member during normal driving conditions, and to release control of the position of the closure member, when a vehicle acceleration exceeds a predetermined acceleration threshold. Thus, upon a high force on the closure member, induced by the high acceleration and weight of the closure member, damage may be prevented by absorbing the high forces in a motion of the closure member and a resistance of the electric motor.

Open roof construction for a vehicle

An open roof construction for a vehicle having a roof opening in a roof part, comprising a panel, and a first device for moving the rear side of the panel towards a raised position relative to the closed position and above an adjoining roof part. The control slide and the lifting member are guided by a guide rail having grooves and extending in longitudinal direction alongside the opening and below the adjoining roof part. A support lever cooperates with the control slide and supports the panel in positions in which it is above the adjoining roof part. The support lever is guided in the guide rail and is adapted to also pass through the passage opening. The support lever takes over support of the panel from an intermediate guide connection of the lifting lever and the intermediate guide connection is then disengaged from the guide curve in the control slide.

A drive system including a guide rail arrangement fixed to a roof module, a drive slide, a front-side lifting arrangement, a rear-side extension mechanism, and a profiled support part. The lifting arrangement and the extension mechanism interact with the profiled support part such that the profiled support part is guided in a force-controlled manner between a closed, ventilating and open positions of the roof part. The coupling device end region remote from the extension mechanism has a coupling slide which is guided in the guide rail arrangement and which comprises a blocking element that can be moved in the vertical direction. A stationary latch recess is provided in the guide rail arrangement, and the drive slide has a receiving area. Depending on the position of the drive slide, the blocking element is moved into the latch recess or into the receiving area in a force-controlled manner by mechanical control contours.

ROOF SYSTEM

A roof system comprises a stationary part configured to be attached to a fixed roof and includes guide rails on opposite sides of a roof opening. The guide rails slidably support an operating mechanism for a panel and include guide grooves bordered by guide flanges. The operating mechanism includes a driving slide for a panel front support, and a panel rear support. The rear support is connected to a panel bracket guide of a panel bracket extending alongside a corresponding edge of the panel. The panel bracket guide slidably engages the rear support so as to enable the panel to slide with respect to the rear support when the front support is driven by the driving slide. The front support engages a guide rail groove of an upright flange of each guide rail while the panel bracket guide extends mainly on the other, inner side of said upright flange.

FRONT CONNECTING ROD FOR SUNROOF LINKAGE, SUNROOF LINKAGE AND SUNROOF ASSEMBLY

A front connecting rod for a sunroof linkage, a sunroof linkage, and a sunroof assembly. The sunroof linkage is configured to drive front glass of a sunroof assembly to slide relative to rear glass, and the front connecting rod is configured to connect a glass-supporting rod of the sunroof linkage to a front slider. The front connecting rod may have an anti-turn-over structure, configured to be matched in shape to a sealing strip disposed on a peripheral edge of the rear glass, so as to prevent the sealing strip from turning over when the sunroof linkage drives the front glass to slide. The front connecting rod for a present sunroof linkage enables a sunroof to open to the maximum extent, and during sliding will not cause the sealing strip of the rear glass to be turned over and folded.
