Pivotal soft top cover with secondary bow linked
A soft top cover assembly including a pivotal portion adapted for attaching at a roof top opening of a vehicle to selectively close off the roof top opening and open up the roof top opening for an open-air experience. The assembly has a cover attached to a first bow member of the pivotal portion and a rear header. Selectively rotating the pivotal portion covers and uncovers the roof top opening. The assembly has at least one pair of shutface appliques adjacent to the sides of the roof top opening. At least one pair of rear side belt mounts incorporating a belt rail and adapted to connect to the vehicle and operable to attach LH/RH rear side windows.
Vehicle strut and lifting device and system
A dual acting gas strut system for a vehicle such as a sports utility vehicle that allows for easier and safer opening and closing of the soft top roof as well as the rear cargo access area. The gas strut attaches to the soft top frame using a ball stud or pin and clevis, at each end, the ball stud or pin and clevis, which is either attached directly to the soft top frame, or is attached to a bracket which attaches to the soft top frame. Alternatively, the gas strut only attaches to the soft top frame at one end and is attached to the vehicle at the other. Each end is attached using a ball stud or pin and clevis, which is either attached directly to the soft top frame or vehicle, or is attached to a bracket which, is attached to the soft top frame or vehicle.
FOLD-BACK SOFT TOP FOR A VEHICLE
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a folding top assembly for use with a vehicle and methods for using a folding top assembly on a vehicle. The folding top assembly can be used to create openings on the top of the vehicle by folding a rear panel segment of the folding top assembly forward to expose a space over a rear seating area of the vehicle and/or folding a front panel segment of the folding top assembly rearward to expose a space over a front seating area of the vehicle. The assembly can be designed and shaped to improve the ability to store the folding top assembly on the vehicle and/or to improve aerodynamics when the vehicle is moving.
Top comprising a cable guide
A top of a convertible vehicle having a top linkage which can be displaced between a closed position, in which the top covers a vehicle interior, and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is uncovered, and which has a linkage arrangement on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, each linkage arrangement having a link and a cable guide disposed on the link and serving to guide a tensioning cable. The cable guide may have two shells defining a passage opening and being in contact with the link from opposite sides.
Folding slanted back soft top assembly for SUV
An articulating slanted back soft top assembly for 4-door and 2-door SUVs. A fabric cover is supported by a frame that is at least partially articulatable from at least a closed position to at least one open air position. The frame includes at least one forward fabric support bow member and at least one rearward fabric support bow member. The rear fabric support bow member being positioned when in the closed position in a manner which allows the fabric to clear a sport bar or “roll bar” member of a vehicle in the closed position such that a rear portion of the top is angled from the vertical when viewing the vehicle from the side.
Folding soft top with lift assist
A soft top assembly which includes lift assist and improved fabric management. The assembly includes front side rails pivotally connected to rear side rails. A plurality of fabric control bows with control linkages provide fabric control to the top material during pivoting of the front side rails. A first and second gas strut are attached to the rear side rails to assist lifting and controlled motion as the top is moved between a closed position and open sunroof position, as one strut is fully loaded and compressed while the other strut is fully loaded and open, for lift assist and dampening.
Soft front cockpit cover with linkage
An articulating soft front cockpit cover assembly including an auxiliary tensioning link, coupling link and cross-car bow. A pivot point rotatable joining the auxiliary tensioning link and coupling link is located at the top of the auxiliary tensioning link. A bracket is provided on the auxiliary tensioning link or coupling link and extends cross-car and attaches to the front or rear edge of the cross-car bow. The soft front cockpit cover assembly in sealing engagement with a rearward top portion of a roof. The articulating portion movable between at least a closed position over about the front vehicle cockpit and at least one open position for an open-air feel.
