A convertible top having a top cover and a top linkage which can be displaced between a closed position, in which a vehicle interior is covered, and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is open toward the top, and which has a linkage arrangement on both sides with respect to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, each linkage arrangement having two main links pivotably mounted on a main bearing fixed to the vehicle and one of which is driven by means of a main drive. Panel bows extend between the bilaterally arranged linkage arrangements, a first one of said panel bows being a front bow, a second one being a front center bow, a third one being a rear center bow and a fourth one being a rear window bow. In the storage position, the rear center bow can be arranged below the rear window bow.

Then, the deformation of the roof member 12 can be reduced, the interference with the sealing surface can be avoided, and the weight of the roof side stopper 65 can be reduced.

A weather strip 5 is attached to a peripheral edge of an opening 4a of a vehicle body 1, and a deck cover 18 includes a resin outer panel 21 and an inner panel 23 joined onto a rear side of the outer panel 21. A spacer 35 is interposed between the outer panel 21 and the inner panel 23 such that a portion of the deck cover 18 provided with the spacer 35 makes contact with the weather strip 5 when the deck cover 18 is closed.

Disclosed is a structure of a cover which allows a first link 25 to be pivotally coupled to a front roof panel via a stepped rivet 27, and a cover 31 to be pivotally coupled to the stepped rivet 27 via a first stepped screw 33. An overhang portion 27e of the stepped rivet 27 is joined to the front roof panel with a periphery of a front attachment hole 23c of the front roof panel being sandwiched between the overhang portion 27e and a large diameter portion 27c inserted in an insertion hole 25a of the first link 25 to pivotally support the first link 25. The first stepped screw 33 has a threaded portion 33d fastened into a fastening hole 27f of the stepped rivet 27, and a base end 33c inserted in a first through hole 31b of the cover 31 to pivotally support the cover 31.
