The present disclosure refers to an all-wheel drive system (10) for a vehicle (12), including: an electrical motor (24) being connected to a first axle (26) of a planetary gear set (28) arranged at an output side (30) of a vehicle gearbox (32), and a second axle (34) of the planetary gear set (28) being connected or connectable to the gearbox output shaft (36) or to ground (G) by a coupling (I).

Axle assembly having an interaxle differential unit

An axle assembly having an input shaft, an output shaft, and an interaxle differential unit. The interaxle differential unit includes first and second side gears, a case, and a pinion gear that is rotatably disposed on a pinion pin. The case extends from the input shaft. The pinion pin extends from the case and is spaced apart from the input shaft.

Electric vehicle comprising a vertical electric propulsion motor and method of making and using the same

An electric vehicle comprises a vehicle chassis extending along a longitudinal axis and a rotatable vehicle drive axle disposed along a transverse axis and having opposed ends that are configured for attachment to a pair of opposed drive wheels. The electric vehicle also comprises a selectively movable electric propulsion motor comprising a rotatable motor shaft rotatable about a motor axis, the electric propulsion motor configured to be mounted within the vehicle chassis and operatively coupled to the rotatable vehicle drive axle and opposed drive wheels, the motor axis configured to be oriented in a substantially vertical direction.

Driveline component including multi-function actuator

A driveline component includes a first plate and a second plate. A motor is engaged with the first plate. The first plate and the second plate include ramped grooves that ramp toward the other of the first plate and the second plate. Balls are disposed between the first plate and the second plate and are engaged with the ramped grooves. A shifter is engaged with the second plate. Relative rotation of the first plate and the second plate causes the balls in the ramped grooves to move the first plate and the second plate axially relative to each other. This relative rotation may be used to make one type of mode selection, and operation of the shifter by the second plate may be used to make another type of mode selection. This allows the single motor to make both selections.

TRANSFER FOR FOUR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE
20230019664 · 2023-01-19 ·

A transfer for a four wheel drive vehicle includes first and second distribution mechanisms that respectively include first and second clutches configured to be controlled to a half-engaged state. The first and second distribution mechanisms distribute a portion of power outputted from a power source to a second transmission mechanism respectively through the first and second clutches. A first difference is different from a second difference. The first difference is a difference between a gear ratio from an input shaft of the first clutch to a first driving wheel and a gear ratio from an output shaft of the first clutch to a second driving wheel. The second difference is a difference between a gear ratio from an input shaft of the second clutch to the first driving wheel and a gear ratio from an output shaft of the second clutch to the second driving wheel.

AXLE ASSEMBLY HAVING AN INTERAXLE DIFFERENTIAL UNIT

The interaxle differential unit includes first and second side gears, a case, and a pinion gear that is rotatably disposed on a pinion pin. The case extends from the input shaft. The pinion pin extends from the case and is spaced apart from the input shaft.

TRANSMISSION, DRIVE TRAIN AND VEHICLE COMPRISING TRANSMISSION

A transmission may include an input shaft, a first output shaft, a second output shaft, a first planetary gearset, and a second planetary gearset connected to the first planetary gearset, where the planetary gearsets each comprise numerous elements. The input shaft, the two output shafts, the planetary gearsets, and their elements may be arranged and designed such that a torque input via the input shaft is converted and distributed in a defined ratio to the two output shafts, and the formation of a combined torque is prevented. At least a third element of the first planetary gearset may be connected to a first element of the second planetary gearset via a shaft for conjoint rotation.

AXLE ASSEMBLY HAVING AN INTERAXLE DIFFERENTIAL UNIT

An axle assembly having an input shaft, an output shaft, and an interaxle differential unit. The interaxle differential unit includes a first side gear, a second side gear, a spider, at least one pinion gear, and a case. The case encircles the first side gear and the spider and has an integral drive gear.
