Transfer Case with Oil Distribution
A transfer case comprises a primary output shaft, a secondary output shaft, a clutch, and a plurality of valves. The primary output shaft includes a hub rotationally coupled thereto. The clutch is selectively couples the primary output shaft to the secondary output shaft to transfer torque therebetween. The clutch includes a housing, interleaved plates, and an apply plate. The housing is rotationally coupled to the secondary output shaft. The interleaved plates alternate between a first subset of the interleaved plates rotationally coupled to the hub, and a second subset of the interleaved plates rotationally coupled to the housing. The apply plate compresses the interleaved plates for transferring torque between the hub and the housing. The valves selectively release oil supplied through the primary output shaft into the housing. Each valve includes a bore formed in the hub and a valve rod movable by the apply plate to open the valve.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A MULTI-AXLE POWERTRAIN FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND CORRESPONDING MULTI-AXLE POWERTRAIN
A device and method for operating a multi-axle powertrain for a motor vehicle, with a first axle being permanently in operative connection and a second axle being at least temporarily in operative connection by a drive device via a clutch coupling. It is provided that, when the second axle is decoupled from the drive device and the starting clutch is disengaged, an expected wheel force is predictively ascertained. The determination of the wheel force takes into account a torque caused by a mass moment of inertia of the drive device, and the second axle is coupled with the drive device if the expected wheel force surpasses a maximum wheel force.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A MULTI-AXLE DRIVE TRAIN FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND CORRESPONDING MULTI-AXLE DRIVE TRAIN
A device and a method for operating a multi-axle drive train for a motor vehicle. A first axle and a second axle are operatively connected, at least temporarily, to a drive device. When the second axle is decoupled from the drive device and a request for multi-axle drive with a first value is present, the second axle is coupled to the drive device only when a noise-masking event occurs, or when the second axle is coupled to the drive device and the request for multi-axle drive is absent, the second axle is decoupled from the drive device only when the noise-masking event occurs.
CONTROL APPARATUS FOR HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE
A control apparatus for a hybrid electric vehicle includes: an engine control portion for controlling an operation state of an engine; and a driving-mode control portion for controlling the vehicle so as to realize selected driving mode or modes. The driving modes include a main-drive-wheel driving mode in which a drive power is distributed to main drive wheels, and an all-wheel driving mode in which the drive power is distributed to the main and auxiliary drive wheels. When the all-wheel driving mode is selected in the main-drive-wheel driving mode with the engine being in a stopped state, the engine control portion is configured to maintain the stopped state of the engine until completion of switching from the main-drive-wheel driving mode to the all-wheel driving mode, and to start the engine after a predetermined operation is executed by the driver of the vehicle to drive the vehicle.
DISCONNECTABLE TWO SPEED VEHICLE REAR DRIVE UNIT WITH TWIN CLUTCH
An improved twin clutch, two-speed disconnect secondary drive unit, which may be configured as a rear drive unit (RDU) for an all wheel drive vehicle is provided. The RDU is driven through an input shaft, which is connected to a vehicle drive source such as a motor, and includes a twin clutch assembly, which is connected to the drive shaft and is selectively actuated to drive left and right main shafts, which drive respective wheels of the vehicle. The RDU further includes a modular a shift assembly mountable to one or both of said main shafts to drive output shafts, wherein each shift assembly is selectively operable between the hi-range and lo-range modes to shift driving operation of the output shafts between hi-speed and lo-speed operation. The shift assembly may be controlled by improved mono-stable or bi-stable actuators.
GEAR UNIT FOR A VEHICLE AND POWERTRAIN WITH SUCH A GEAR UNIT
A gear unit has a differential with two planetary gearsets and gearset elements. A first gearset element of the first planetary gearset is connected to an input shaft, a second gearset element of the first planetary gearset is connected to a first output shaft, a third gearset element of the first planetary gearset is connected to a first gearset element of the second planetary gearset, a second gearset element of the second planetary gearset is connected to a housing, and a third gearset element of the second planetary gearset is connected to a second output shaft. A first output torque is transmittable to the first output shaft. A second output torque is transmittable to the second output shaft. An actuation mechanism is arranged between the first and second output shafts for a co-rotationally fixed connection between the output shafts when the actuation mechanism is actuated.
Transfer gear
The present invention relates to a transfer gearbox having an input shaft, a first output shaft, a second output shaft, a friction clutch, by means of which, in a manner which is dependent on its engagement state, a variable proportion of a drive torque which is transmitted from the input shaft to the first output shaft can be transmitted to the second output shaft, and a rotationally driven actuator unit for controlling the engagement state of the friction clutch. Furthermore, the transfer gearbox has an electromagnetically actuable latch for locking the actuator unit as required.
Multi-purpose vehicle
A multi-purpose vehicle is disclosed that includes a mode change switch for operating a travel mode of a vehicle body and a mode control device for switching the travel mode of the vehicle body in response to an operation of the mode change switch. The mode control device switches the travel mode of the vehicle body between a two-wheel engine driving mode in which only an engine is driven, a two-wheel motor driving mode in which only a motor is driven, a four-wheel hybrid driving mode in which both of the engine and the motor are driven, and an OFF-mode in which none of the engine and the motor is driven.
Off-Road Recreational Vehicle
Embodiments relate to an off-road vehicle comprising a frame, including at a frame, a passenger compartment, a driveline that includes at least a drive system and a driven system, and a constant velocity (CV) joint for coupling the driven system to the drive system. The CV joint includes a housing, a coupling shaft, a detent, a plunge pin and an actuation pin, wherein the actuation pin has a first end that is accessible via an aperture in the housing, wherein actuation of the actuation pin determines whether the plunge pin is in the first position or the second position.
