The vehicle system can include: a set of vehicle couplings (e.g., a tractor interface, a trailer interface, etc.); a chassis, a battery pack, an electric powertrain, a sensor suite, and a controller. The modular vehicle system can optionally include landing gear, a suspension, and any other suitable set of components. The vehicle system functions to structurally support and/or tow a trailer—such as a Class 8 semi-trailer—and/or to augment/supplement a tractor propulsive capability (e.g., via a diesel/combustion engine) with a supplementary electric drive axle(s).

POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM

A power supply system (10) is used for supplying power to a power system of an electric tractor and comprises a bracket (100) that is provided above and below a frame of a transport trailer, first cases (200) that are provided on the bracket and first power battery packs that are suspended inside the first case. Each of the first cases is provided with a first ventilation structure and a second ventilation structure (211) so that while the transport trailer is moving, wind can enter the first case from the first ventilation structure and be discharged from the second ventilation structure, thus achieving further cooling and heat dissipation for the first power battery packs and avoiding service life being impacted due to the first power battery pack overheating.

The control circuitry is configured to control the electric motor to accelerate the driver forward based on the one or more signals indicating a forward tilt of the at least one pedal, the electrical battery power delivered to the electric motor for forward acceleration proportional to a degree of forward tilt of the at least one pedal, and to control the electric motor to accelerate the driver rearward based on the one or more signals indicating a rearward tilt of at least one pedal, the electrical battery power delivered to the electric motor for rearward acceleration proportional to a degree of rearward tilt of the at least one pedal.

TRACTOR POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM

Disclosed in embodiments of the utility model is a tractor power supply system, used for supplying power to a power system of a tractor. The tractor power supply system is provided above or below a transport trailer connected to the tractor. The tractor power supply system is provided above or below the transport trailer, and the tractor power supply system can be configured with battery modules of different capacities according to use conditions of the tractor by utilizing the characteristic of a large installation space of the transport trailer, thereby ensuring the endurance mileage and the working time of the tractor.

VEHICLE ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND RELATED METHODS

A through the road (TTR) hybridization strategy is proposed to facilitate introduction of hybrid electric vehicle technology in a significant portion of current and expected trucking fleets. In some cases, the technologies can be retrofitted onto an existing vehicle (e.g., a truck, a tractor unit, a trailer, a tractor-trailer configuration, at a tandem, etc.). In some cases, the technologies can be built into new vehicles. In some cases, one vehicle may be built or retrofitted to operate in tandem with another and provide the hybridization benefits contemplated herein. By supplementing motive forces delivered through a primary drivetrain and fuel-fed engine with supplemental torque delivered at one or more electrically-powered drive axles, improvements in overall fuel efficiency and performance may be delivered, typically without significant redesign of existing components and systems that have been proven in the trucking industry.
