The operating unit for a vehicle, in particular for a vehicle component, is provided with a housing (10) which has an operating element (12), such as a display for example, and is designed to be secured in a device, in particular in a vehicle dashboard. The operating element (12) is elastically mounted on the housing (10). An actuator (16) is additionally provided for mechanically exciting the operating element (12) when an operation of the operating element (12) has been detected. Finally, the operating unit also has a vibration compensating mass (20) which can be mechanically excited by the actuator or by one actuator (16) when an operation of the operating element (12) has been detected and/or which is mounted on the housing (10) and can be moved in order to substantially compensate for forces acting on the housing (10) when the operating element (12) is moved.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VACUUM-FORMING ASPHERIC MIRRORS

A method of forming a 3D mirror for a heads-up display (HUD) system includes providing a glass-based preform having a first major surface, a second major surface, and a minor surface connecting the first and second major surfaces, and further includes disposing the glass-based preform on a mold having a concave surface such that the first and second longitudinal side surfaces are adjacent to a longitudinal wall of a housing. The longitudinal wall extends from the concave surface to at least a height of the second major surface of the glass-based preform. The method further includes supplying a vacuum and conforming the second major surface to the concave surface of the mold using the vacuum. The first and second transverse side surfaces have a curved shape corresponding to a curve of the concave surface a remain coincident with the concave surface during the conforming of the second major surface.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR STRUCTURE ADAPTED FOR VEHICLE CIGARETTE LIGHTER DEVICE

An electrical connector structure adapted for a cigarette lighter device in a vehicle, which is compatible with a conventional vehicle cigarette lighter plug or socket, includes: a female connector having an external thread for at an inlet outer diameter of the female connector; and a male connector having a flange and an internally threaded locking cap; wherein the male connector is configured to be inserted into the female connector such that: the flange of the plug contacts an inlet end of the female connector; the internal thread of the locking cap is screwed onto the external thread of the female connector; and the male and female connectors are securely coupled mechanically while achieving an electrical connection therebetween.

The combiner includes a projection main body and a fastening protrusion. The projection main body is set with a projection region and has reflection surfaces displaying a virtual image by reflecting the display light image projected onto the projection region in a shape of a curved surface. The fastening protrusion has a planar fastening surface in surface contact with the seat surface. The fastening protrusion protrudes from the projection main body and is fastened to the base with the fastening member inserted into the fastening protrusion.

An illustrative example embodiment of a display includes a cover, a plurality of display panels that collectively establish a display area, and a polarizer between the display panels and the cover. The polarizer is coextensive with the entire display area.
