A position displacing device has a processor configured to set a recommendation range of the seat position, capable of displacing the seat position to a manual control position representing the seat position when a driver is operating a vehicle manually within a predetermined time, based on the manual control position, set an intermediate position between the manual control position and an automatic control position set within the recommendation range, and determine whether a level to which the driver is contributing to driving is equal to or below a predetermined reference threshold based on information that describes physical condition of the driver, wherein the seat position is displaced from the automatic control position to the intermediate position when the seat position is at the automatic control position and it is determined that the level to which the driver is contributing to driving is equal to or below the reference threshold.
Method of controlling a vehicle seating assembly
A vehicle includes a front seating assembly and a rear seating assembly. An occupant sensor senses occupancy of the front seating assembly. A proximity sensor senses an object in a footwell behind the front seating assembly. A rear door sensor senses the opening of a rear door. A controller activates an actuator to move the front seating assembly forward based on the sensed occupancy, a sensed object, and sensed door opening. A method of controlling a vehicle seating assembly includes the steps of: sensing the front seating assembly is unoccupied with the occupant sensor; detecting in the footwell behind the front seating assembly with the proximity sensor; sensing a rear door position with the door sensor; and moving the front seating assembly forward when the front seating assembly is unoccupied, an object is in the footwell, and the rear door is in an open position.
SEAT APPARATUS
In order to improve steering operation operability during cornering while maintaining a driver holding property, a seat apparatus is provided with: a seat back frame; a cornering sensor for detecting a cornering direction of a vehicle; and a control unit that controls the seat back frame on the basis of the result of detection by the cornering sensor. The seat back frame is provided with: left and right side frames disposed on both sides of the seat back frame; a back plate disposed between the left and right side frames; and a swinging mechanism for swinging the back plate with respect to the direction of movement of the vehicle. The control unit controls the swinging mechanism such that, upon detection of a cornering direction of the vehicle by the cornering sensor, the inner one of the sides of the back plate with respect to the cornering direction is positioned rearward of the outer one of the sides with respect to the cornering direction.
Method and Device for Controlling a Vehicle Seat
A method controls drive units for adjusting vehicle seat components. According to the method, a vehicle speed-dependent and crash-related nominal position or a vehicle speed-dependent and crash-related nominal position range are defined for at least one component. Starting from an actual position that is the same as the nominal position or from an actual position within the nominal position range, the actual position cannot be manually or automatically adjusted in the first instance or can only be adjusted in the nominal position range in the second instance, independently from the identification of a crash situation. Starting from an actual position that is different from the nominal position or outside the nominal position range, the actual position is automatically adjusted towards the nominal position or the nominal position range, preferably according to the identified defined situations, independently from the identification of a crash situation.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and system for enacting various driving profiles based on identifying the age and gender of the user. Initially, identifying information is acquired from a user of a vehicle. An identification program determines whether the driver is known, by comparing the identifying information to a set of stored identifying information. If the driver of the vehicle is known, as the identifying information from the user is similar to stored identifying information, then a specific driver profile associated with the specific driver is activated. If the driver is not known, as the identifying information from the user of the vehicle is not similar to the stored identifying information, then the age and gender of the user of the vehicle is determined. Based on the determined age and gender of the driver of the vehicle, various vehicle setting ranges are enacted.

An apparatus for controlling a position of a seat for a vehicle includes: an input unit for receiving a relaxation mode operation command for a vehicle seat from a user; a determination unit for determining a current position state of the vehicle by using a G-sensing value for the vehicle seat and a reference position value for the vehicle based on the relaxation mode operation command; and a control unit for controlling an operation module of the vehicle seat to compensate a position of the vehicle seat when the vehicle is located on an inclined road.

A method for storing cargo items includes determining characteristics of a cargo space, where the cargo space includes at least one seat and the at least one seat is capable of being moved between a first position within the cargo space and a second position within the cargo space. A set of cargo items including one or more cargo items to be positioned in the cargo space is determined. A configuration of the cargo space is determined based at least in part on the set of cargo items, where the configuration of the cargo space includes the second position of the at least one seat. A layout of the set of cargo items within the cargo space is determined based at least in part on the set of cargo items and the determined configuration, and the at least one seat is moved from the first position to the second position.

The present invention relates to a vehicle assistant system of a vehicle comprising at least a first camera and a second camera, wherein the first camera is arranged such that the area in front of the vehicle can at least partially be captured, and wherein the second camera is arranged such that the interior of the vehicle can at least partially be captured, and wherein the vehicle assistant system comprises one common image data analysis unit which is configured to process image data received from the first camera and the second camera.
