Deployable plate for rearward-facing seat
An assembly of a dash for a vehicle includes a first plate and a second plate movable along an axis away from the first plate. The second plate moves from an undeployed position to a deployed position. The assembly includes a spring between the first plate and the second plate that biases the second plate toward the deployed position. The assembly includes a post extending along the axis from the second plate through the first plate. The assembly includes a pin releasably engaging the post with the first plate in the undeployed position. The assembly includes a release supported by the first plate and connected to the pin. The pin is disengageable from the post transverse to the axis by the release.
POSITION-VARIABLE SEAT BACK HINGE STIFFNESS FOR BELT-INTEGRATION SEATS
The disclosure provides for a system that includes a seat mounted in a vehicle. The seat includes a base, a back support, a hinge, and a seat belt integrated into the seat. The back support is capable of rotating relative to the base and thereby reclining. The hinge is between the base and the back support and is configured to lock the back support in positions in relation to the base. The seat belt has a shoulder portion and a lap portion and is attached to the seat at a shoulder anchor in the back support and a base anchor in the base. When a generated torque, created from a forward force applied by the shoulder portion of the seat belt, exceeds a threshold amount of torque, the hinge is configured to unlock and back support is configured to rotate forward from a reclined position towards an upright position.
Vehicle seat mounting bracket for energy attenuating member
A vehicle assembly includes a vehicle body and a vehicle seat. The vehicle body includes a frame backing member elongated in a length direction of the vehicle seat. The vehicle seat includes a seat base and a seat back connected to the seat base. The seat back is connected to the frame backing member. A mounting bracket is connected to an upper portion of a seat back frame. An energy attenuating member positioned in a space between the seat back frame and the frame backing member interconnects the mounting bracket and the frame backing member. During a crash event the energy attenuating member is configured to collapse between the seat back and the frame backing member to absorb kinetic energy in the vehicle seat when the seat back is driven toward the frame backing member.
Reversible v sleeping seat
An adjustable seat for a vehicle including a first seat section configured to support a lower leg portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the first direction and a second seat section configured to support an upper leg portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the first direction and a torso and head portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the second direction. The adjustable seat also comprising a third seat section configured to support the torso and head portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the first direction and the upper leg portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the second direction. The adjustable seat also comprising a fourth seat section configured to support the lower leg portion of the passenger when the passenger is sitting facing the second direction.
Occupant protection device for vehicle
An occupant protection device, for a vehicle which protects an occupant seated on a seating surface of a seat, includes: a first push-up mechanism which pushes up a waist portion of the occupant by raising a rear portion of the seating surface; a second push-up mechanism which pushes up a thigh portion of the occupant by raising a front portion of the seating surface; and a control unit which controls operations of the first push-up mechanism and the second push-up mechanism. The control unit operates the first push-up mechanism and then operates the second push-up mechanism when an impact applied to the vehicle from the front of the seat is detected or predicted.
Rail for vehicle seat and vehicle seat comprising such a rail
A rail for a vehicle seat having first and second sliding rail members driven by a motorized drive mechanism. The rail further comprises a mechanical lock actuated by a relative movement between the motorized drive mechanism and the second rail member in the event of an accident.
Seat sliding structure for vehicle
A seat sliding structure for a vehicle includes: a pair of left and right slide rails that include upper rails, which are attached to a lower portion of a vehicle seat, and lower rails, which support the upper rails such that the upper rails can slide in a vehicle longitudinal direction; rail guiding members that are fixed to a floor panel, and that support the lower rails such that the lower rails can slide in the vehicle longitudinal direction between a driving position at a vehicle front side and a relaxation position at a vehicle rear side; and a locking mechanism that locks movement of the slide rails at the relaxation position, and that releases a locked state when a frontal collision of the vehicle is detected or predicted.
Seat assembly with deployable panel
A seat assembly for a vehicle includes a seatback having a seat frame. The seat assembly includes a panel having an end slidably supported by the seat frame. The panel is bowable outwardly from the seat frame to a deployed position. The seat assembly includes an actuator supported by the seat frame and connected to the end of the panel.
Apparatus, system and method for repositioning occupant in a crash event
An airbag system for repositioning a seat occupant in a moving vehicle during a crash event includes: a first inflatable airbag disposed proximate to a front portion of a seat pan; a second inflatable airbag disposed proximate to a rear portion of the seat pan; and inflation control device controlling deployment of the first and second inflatable airbags. The inflation control device includes a programmable controller controlling inflation parameters of the first and second inflatable airbags to achieve a desired lift, subject to monument constraints.
Vehicle seat
A vehicle seat has a lower seat part and a seat backrest. The seat backrest has a backrest structure, a central backrest section which has at least one backrest cushion and a backrest cover, and a left and a right backrest side wall. The seat backrest is provided with at least one expansion element which has at least one cavity that is enclosed by a membrane and can be filled with an expansion fluid from a fluid source. At least one respective fillable cavity of the at least one expansion element is integrated into the backrest cushion of the central backrest section or is provided between the backrest structure and the backrest cushion of the central backrest section to the left and the right of the backrest longitudinal central plane at a lateral distance thereto.
