DEVICE FOR INFLUENCING A BACKWARD MOVEMENT OF A SEAT AND SEAT
20230074329 · 2023-03-09 ·

The invention relates to a device for influencing a backward movement of a seat, in particular a backrest part of the seat, with at least one deformation element arranged in a hinged area of the seating part of the seat, the deformation element being configured such that the deformation element can be deformed due to a force acting on the seating part and/or the back part at a predefined torque curve. The invention also relates to a seat, in particular a vehicle seat, comprising a seating part, a backrest part and the type of device.

Vehicle seat assembly with impact energy management

A vehicle seat assembly is provided with a seatback frame adapted to be mounted to a vehicle interior. The seatback frame has a front region facing a forward direction, and a rear region. A first bracket is mounted to the front region of the seatback frame. A second bracket is mounted to the first bracket and the rear region of the seatback frame. At least one head restraint post is mounted to the first bracket or the second bracket and spaced apart from the seatback frame so that upon a rear vehicle impact, the second bracket deforms as the at least one head restraint post is translated toward the seatback frame.

Multipurpose seatback bladder system for crash safety and lumbar support

A seat for a vehicle may include a seatback including one or more inflatable bladders that may be configured to provide adjustable lumbar support and to deploy in response to a triggering event signal indicative of a change of velocity, collision, or predicted collision event. One or more inflatable bladders may be configured to be independently controllable and configured to provide adjustable lumbar support at a region of the seatback during normal vehicle operation. Moreover, when at least a portion of the back of an occupant of the seat pushes against a front surface of the seatback due to the event, the one or more inflatable bladders may be configured to compress at least partially a comfort foam or comfort material in the seatback and expedite engagement of the energy absorbing material with the occupant's back.

CONVEYANCE SEAT
20230144452 · 2023-05-11 ·

Provided is a conveyance seat having a good seating feeling and a suitable shock absorbing structure at the time of a rear collision. A conveyance seat has a configuration in which a cushion material is placed on a back frame and is covered with a skin material. The back frame includes right and left side frames which constitute side portions in a seat width direction and extend in an up to down direction. A surface of a cushion front portion disposed on a seat front side of the back frame in the cushion material is provided with a skin pull-in groove for pulling an end of the skin material and a surface groove disposed on the outside of the skin pull-in groove in the seat width direction and extending in the up to down direction. A back surface of the cushion front portion is provided with a back surface groove which is disposed between the skin pull-in groove and the surface groove in the seat width direction and extends in the up to down direction. The surface groove is disposed at a position overlapping the side frame in the front to back direction of the seat.

Position-variable seat back hinge stiffness for belt-integration seats
11639122 · 2023-05-02 · ·

The disclosure provides for a system that includes a seat mounted in a vehicle. The seat includes a base, a back support, a hinge, and a seat belt integrated into the seat. The back support is capable of rotating relative to the base and thereby reclining. The hinge is between the base and the back support and is configured to lock the back support in positions in relation to the base. The seat belt has a shoulder portion and a lap portion and is attached to the seat at a shoulder anchor in the back support and a base anchor in the base. When a generated torque, created from a forward force applied by the shoulder portion of the seat belt, exceeds a threshold amount of torque, the hinge is configured to unlock and back support is configured to rotate forward from a reclined position towards an upright position.

SIDE AIRBAG APPARATUS
20170369020 · 2017-12-28 ·

A side airbag apparatus includes an inflator, an airbag having a main inflation portion and an auxiliary inflation portion, and a restriction portion. The main inflation portion is configured to be inflated by inflation gas supplied from the inflator and deployed forward in a space between a side wail of the vehicle and an occupant seated in a normal posture in a vehicle seat. The auxiliary inflation portion is configured to be inflated in a seat back by the inflation gas from the inflator, thereby pushing the occupant toward an inner side of the vehicle. The restriction portion restricts the auxiliary inflation portion from being inflated toward a gap that is between the rear end section in the outer side portion of the seat back and the rear end section in the middle portion of the seat back.

Vehicle occupant protection device
09845027 · 2017-12-19 · ·

A vehicle occupant protection device that smoothly operates a seat and a seatbelt. When a collision is predicted, if the time to the collision reaches a preset time t1, a seat control ECU starts operation of a seat actuator, and if a time to the collision reaches a preset time t2 (t1>t2), the seat control ECU starts operation of a seatbelt actuator. Further, when the time t2 to the collision is reached or when the time t3 (t1>t2>t3) is reached at which time the seatbelt actuator is activated to start application of a predetermined tensile force to the seatbelt, the seat control ECU stops operation of the seatbelt actuator. Seat adjustment and seatbelt adjustment may be adapted such that both the adjustments are not performed at the same time or, alternatively, such that both the adjustments are operated at the same time only during a time period in which application of the predetermined tensile force to the seatbelt starts.

Vehicle seat having improved performance of reducing whiplash injury

A vehicle seat may include a protrusion member installed to a lower portion of a back frame inside a seatback to protrude forward and to absorb an impact on the hips of an occupant upon a vehicle collision, wherein a lower portion of the seatback, which has a protrusion shape due to the protrusion member, induces a sitting posture of the occupant to be modified when the occupant sits down on the vehicle seat, thereby reducing a gap between a head of the occupant and a headrest in a state that the hips of the occupant moves forward.
