An example vehicle bench seat has a first backrest, a first speaker, a second backrest, a second speaker, a central portion, and a seat base. The first speaker is disposed within the first backrest and the second speaker is disposed within the second backrest. Each of the first and second speakers emit primary sound waves and secondary sound waves. The secondary sound waves of the first speaker are 180 degrees out of phase with the primary sound waves of the first speaker and the secondary sound waves of the second speaker are 180 degrees out of phase with the primary sound waves of the second speaker. The central portion includes channels that direct the secondary sound waves emitted by the first and second speakers into the vehicle cabin to cancel undesired primary sound waves.

The auxiliary seatback portion may include an actuatable element. The actuatable element may be configured to actuate between an open position and a closed position. The actuatable element may be configured to provide access to a stowage compartment when the actuatable element is in the open position.

The center seat back is configured to have a fold down, service position where the service door pivoted at the first hinged connection is located above the seat base to provide access to an area rearward the seat back in a front-rear direction of the vehicle seat. The service door is prevented from moving to the fold down, service position with the panel located beneath the service door.

The seatback also includes an attachment member on the rear side of the trim cover/foam assembly configured to engage the rear panel and an armrest assembly including an armrest pivotally disposed on a frame at a rear portion of the armrest, with the armrest configured to pass through the opening. Upon installation of the armrest assembly, the rear panel is secured to the attachment member and sandwiched between the rear portion and the attachment member.
