Embodiments of the invention cover a variety of assemblies that can be used for loading, unloading and securing materials for transport. In all embodiments, the storage rack assembly includes a first horizontal support, at least one vertical lift arm connected to the horizontal support, and at least one lifting mechanism integral to a vertical lift arm wherein the assembly is attachable to the rear section of a vehicle. The vertical lift arm can, in some embodiments, also function as the lifting mechanism. A unique feature of all embodiments is the ability to raise and lower the rear section of the storage rack to accommodate the loading and unloading of materials.

Aspects hereof relate to a translating cargo assembly for a vehicle. The translating cargo assembly may include a translation mechanism, which may be affixed to a cargo frame of the vehicle. The translating cargo assembly may also include a carrier frame that is coupled with the translation mechanism and configured to mate with cargo implements. A drive mechanism, such as a rotary actuator, may be coupled with the translation mechanism. The rotary actuator may be effective to translate the carrier frame through a range of positions including a transport position, in which the carrier frame may be adjacent to the cargo frame, and a loading position, in which the carrier frame may be proximate ground level.

Aspects hereof relate to a translating cargo assembly for a vehicle. The translating cargo assembly may include a translation mechanism, which may be affixed to a cargo frame of the vehicle. A motorized transfer tank includes an electric motor and related control equipment to enable the transfer tank to propel itself into and out of the dump body of a transfer dump truck without the use of cranes or winches. The motorized transfer tank enables a transfer dump truck equipped for transporting solid payloads to carry liquid payloads safely and economically by loading and unloading the motorized transfer tank from the truck's dump body and/or a transfer trailer by operation of the electric motor and a battery included with the motorized transfer tank. When not being used to transport liquid payloads, the motorized transfer tank may be unloaded from the transfer dump truck and/or the transfer trailer onto a stationary tank stand, allowing the transfer trailer and dump truck to be used for transporting other payloads.
