The linking lever that is pivotally mounted on the platform is linked to the vehicle at a linking end region. The support element attached to the platform includes a foot end which braces the ground. The drive element brings the support element from a resting state associated with the resting position of the platform, into a working state in which the foot end is braced on the ground and the platform is raised into the working position. The connection element functions to control the rotational position of the linking lever and the pivot position of the platform according to the support element.

A lift deck assembly has a base frame mounted in the cargo box of a truck and a load supporting platform movable relative to the base frame by a linkage between a loading position substantially at ground level and a transport position above the cargo box in which the side edges of the platform are aligned with the sidewalls of the cargo box and the rear edge of the platform is aligned with the tailgate to provide the general appearance of a tonneau cover. The platform includes a main defining the side edges and an extendable portion that can be extended rearward from the main portion to assist in supporting a load thereon. The extendible portion can be retracted so that the rear edge thereof aligns with the rear edge of the main portion and the tailgate.

Loading and unloading systems and methods

Methods and systems are provided for loading and unloading an item onto a vehicle. In one embodiment, a system includes: a loading system configured to receive a locker configured to store the item; a shuttle transfer system configured to transfer the locker to a storage position within the vehicle; and a swing arm system that couples to the loading system and the shuttle transfer system, the swing arm system configured to adjust a position of the loading system relative to the vehicle.

The frame is selectively pivotable from a first configuration to a second configuration. In the first configuration, the frame extends transversely from the cargo area to a surface upon and positioned for loading. In the second configuration, the frame is substantially horizontally and positioned to transfer the load to the cargo area. A leg is pivotally coupled to the frame proximate to a second end of the frame. A plurality of spikes is coupled to and extends from the leg distal from the frame. The spikes engage the surface to transition the frame from the first configuration to the second configuration as the vehicle pulls on the first end of the frame.
