Vehicle systems and methods

A vehicle system includes a chassis, a plurality of wheels coupled to the chassis and supporting the chassis for rolling on a surface, and a riding platform coupled to the chassis. The riding platform is for supporting a user behind the chassis when the riding platform is in a downward pivoted state. A linkage connects the riding platform to the chassis for selective pivotal motion relative to the chassis between an upward pivoted state in which the riding platform is pivoted into a position to allow a user to walk behind the chassis and a downward pivoted state in which the user may ride or step on the platform.

ARTICLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

An article management system utilizes an electric cart which may autonomously move, automatically and easily managing articles and ensuring the convenience of delivery service by the automation of article delivery.

PASSENGER AND ITEM COORDINATED DELIVERY SYSTEM
20220414811 · 2022-12-29 · ·

A transportation system controls a fleet of autonomous vehicles to implement passenger transportation and coordinate delivery of baggage or other associated items using separate vehicles. The transportation system receives passenger data and associated item data via a user interface, and determines the number and type of autonomous vehicles to transport the passengers and items from selected pick-up locations to a destination. In various implementations, the transportation system may support different pick-up locations, pick-up times and/or delivery times for the passengers and associated items. The transportation system also may determine delayed item delivery options for different delivery times and modes of transportation. Based on the passenger and item data, along with input received via the user interface, the transportation system determines the vehicles to deploy and the delivery routes, and transmits instructions to the autonomous vehicles to provide the passenger transportation and perform the item delivery.

Mobile Object

An embodiment mobile object includes a frame part having an internal space, a wheel part coupled to a first side of the frame part and comprising a wheel, movable modules coupled to a second side of the frame part and configured to be movable in a vertical direction relative to the frame part, and a door module coupled to a first side of the movable modules, the door part being rotatable relative to the movable modules in a direction toward the internal space or a direction away from the internal space.

AUTOMATED STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A vehicle has an automated storage and retrieval system, the automated storage and retrieval system including an area for storage of items and having locations, each location being suitable for holding one or more of the items; an inductor that receives and inducts the items into the automated storage and retrieval system; a conveyor that conveys the items from the inductor to the area; and an extraction station. When an item is designated for removal from the area, the conveyor delivers the designated item to the extraction station and, after receipt of the designated item from the conveyor, the extraction station delivers the designated item to a designated recipient for extraction of the designated item from the automated storage and retrieval system.

LOCKABLE SHELVES AND METHODS

A self-locking assembly includes one or more shelves. Each of the shelves has dividers, which define storage bays that are adjacent to each other in a lateral direction and adjacent storage bays being spaced apart from each other by one of the dividers positioned therebetween, and a lock contained within each storage bay. The self-locking assembly also includes one or more storage units having a width that is a same as, or smaller than, a width of at least one of the storage bays. Each of the storage units has an upper surface, which transports item(s) supported thereon, and an interlocking feature that engages with the lock of one of the storage bays to resist removal of each storage unit from a corresponding one of the storage bays. Each storage unit can be inserted into and removed from a corresponding one of the storage bays in a longitudinal direction.

MOBILE BODY SYSTEM

Provided is a mobile body system including a traveling unit having an autonomous traveling function and a trolley unit having a housing portion for loading an object. A detection unit detects an amount of objects placed on the housing portion. A control unit determines an operation of the traveling unit based on the amount of objects detected by the detection unit.

Delivery vehicle with flexible storage

A delivery vehicle has separate compartments with a common sidewall. Doors that are interchangeable between the compartments close the compartments. A latching assembly between the doors and sidewall limits movement of the sidewall when only one of the doors is closed. The compartments are combined into a single compartment by moving the sidewall when the doors are open. A hinge assembly connects the doors. A contact and wiper assembly between the doors carries power and commands for the hinge assembly.

MOBILE DELIVERY SYSTEM AND SMART CAROUSEL DISPENSER

A mobile delivery apparatus is provided. Another aspect provides a software program used with a mobile delivery apparatus. Still another aspect includes a mobile delivery system utilizing a smart carousel dispenser. An aspect of the mobile delivery apparatus includes a delivery vehicle having a motor operable to drive terrestrial wheels of the delivery vehicle, a cargo box section, a carousel positioned in the cargo box section, and a plurality of storage bins positioned on the carousel. A further aspect includes at least one scanner positioned adjacent a first access door and configured to scan the bins and the parcels held in the bins as the carousel rotates. Yet another aspect employs a controller to rotate the carousel and selectively align one or more of the storage bins with a second access door.

PACKAGE SORTING SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE

Package sorting systems and methods of use are disclosed herein. An example system includes a platform of a vehicle, where the platform is arranged as a grid having a plurality of slots (including an open slot and a target slot). A plurality of slabs can be placed into the grid except for in the open slot. A slab moving assembly is used, to move the slabs in order to place a selected slab into the target slot on the platform.
