A tractor trailer system includes a tractor and a trailer. The tractor includes a hotel device and an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) configured to provide electrical power to the hotel device. The trailer is connected to the tractor, and includes a Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) having a TRU controller, an electrical TRU component, and a TRU Power Unit. The TRU controller is configured to utilize the APU to provide electrical power to the electrical TRU component during low TRU load conditions, and utilize the TRU Power Unit during high TRU load conditions.

MOBILE TRANSPORT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING ITEMS AND SERVICES
An apparatus and method for a mobile transport for delivering temperature-controlled contents includes a plurality of compartments coupled to a vehicle body where each compartment includes an interior space and a front panel defining a wall of the interior space. Each front panel is operable to open and reveal the interior space of its compartment in response to a predetermined condition. A temperature controller is configured to individually control a temperature setting within at least one of the plurality of compartments, and a germicidal controller is configured to provide a germicide to the interior space of each of the plurality of compartments. In operation, the mobile transport receives an order signal to pick up an item from a source, the order signal including the pickup location information, customer identification information, and delivery location information. After the item has been placed in the interior space of a compartment, the temperature controller sets the temperature setting for that compartment according to a type of the item. After arriving at the delivery location, the front panel of the compartment is opened in response to receiving an open request signal satisfying the predetermined condition, the open request signal including information relating to the customer identification information.

Methods and systems for operating a transport climate control system of a vehicle are provided. The method includes obtaining a state of charge of an energy storage device capable of providing power to the transport climate control system; determining an energy level including the state of charge, receiving a planned route for the vehicle, and receiving route status data associated with the planned route for the vehicle. The route status data includes traffic data, weather data, and/or geographic data identifying areas where the transport climate control system is to be solely powered by the energy storage device. The method further includes determining whether the energy level is sufficient to complete the planned route for the vehicle based on the planned route and the route data, and when the energy level is not sufficient to complete the planned route for the vehicle, providing a notification to a user via a display.

Methods and systems for operating a transport climate control system of a vehicle are provided. The method includes obtaining a state of charge of an energy storage device capable of providing power to the transport climate control system; determining an energy level including the state of charge, receiving a planned route for the vehicle, and receiving route status data associated with the planned route for the vehicle. The route status data includes traffic data, weather data, and/or geographic data identifying areas where the transport climate control system is to be solely powered by the energy storage device. The method further includes determining whether the energy level is sufficient to complete the planned route for the vehicle based on the planned route and the route data, and when the energy level is not sufficient to complete the planned route for the vehicle, providing a notification to a user via a display.

A hybrid power conversion system (60) for an air conditioned transport vehicle (24) including a plurality of refrigeration components (52, 54, 56) for heating and/or cooling a refrigerated volume (40). Also included is a battery (62) storing electrical power to be provided to at least one of the plurality of refrigeration components (52, 54, 56). Further included is at least one supplemental power source (68, 70, 72, 76) providing electrical power to the battery (62) to provide a total available DC power for the refrigeration components (52, 54, 56). Yet further included is a power converter (64) converting the total available DC power to a total AC power, the total AC power provided to at least one of the plurality of refrigeration components (52, 54, 56).

A hybrid power conversion system (60) for an air conditioned transport vehicle (24) including a plurality of refrigeration components (52, 54, 56) for heating and/or cooling a refrigerated volume (40). Also included is a battery (62) storing electrical power to be provided to at least one of the plurality of refrigeration components (52, 54, 56). Further included is at least one supplemental power source (68, 70, 72, 76) providing electrical power to the battery (62) to provide a total available DC power for the refrigeration components (52, 54, 56). Yet further included is a power converter (64) converting the total available DC power to a total AC power, the total AC power provided to at least one of the plurality of refrigeration components (52, 54, 56).

Providing the enclosure includes supplying one of a first material and a second material to a mold. This also includes supplying the other of the first material and the second material on the one of the first material and the second material that is supplied to the mold. Also, this includes curing the first material and the second material integrally that are supplied to the mold. The first material forms into the outer layer and the second material forms into the supporter. The second material includes a plurality of reinforcing fibers.
