Vehicle Lighting with Redundant Control
20220009407 · 2022-01-13 ·

A lighting system of a vehicle may include light units and controllers for operating the light units. Each light unit is multifunctional in that the light unit may operate in various modes, which may be invoked at different times under varying circumstances. A light unit on the first end of a vehicle may operate as a headlight if the first end is the front end of the vehicle. On the other hand, the light unit may operate as a tail light if the first end is the rear end of the vehicle. Furthermore, the light unit may operate as a turn signal in either direction or brake light while the first end is the rear end of the vehicle. The light unit includes a lens array positioned to receive light from various light sources. The lighting system may operate in a fashion that allows for lighting redundancy on each end of the vehicle in the event of a lighting controller failure.

Backlight unit

A backlight unit 10 for an outside mirror of a vehicle may comprise: a light source unit 30 including at least one light source 31 disposed therein; a light processing unit 40 having at least one light passage 41 through which light emitted from the light source 31 passes while being diffused, and a reflective surface 42 for reflecting the light having passed through the light passage 41; and a photorefractive means 60 which is disposed at a light exit of the light processing unit and refracts light emitted from the light exit of the light processing unit to be oriented toward a driver's seat.

A light control unit including a light control sheet which includes a light control layer and is to be bonded to a surface of a transparent plate having an edge portion to be held in a window frame, and a buffer member including a portion that has a higher indentation hardness and a larger thickness than the light control sheet. The buffer member is to be positioned outside an edge of the light control sheet in the edge portion of the transparent plate on the surface such that the buffer member makes contact with the window frame when the edge portion of the transparent plate is held in the window frame.

LAMP FOR VEHICLE

A lamp for a vehicle includes a light source unit for generating a first light; a light adjustment unit for adjusting a first light concentration for the first light to generate a second light having a second light concentration from the first light concentration; and a movable mirror unit for reflecting the second light to form an image of a predetermined shape on a road surface. A position where the image is formed on the road surface is changed depending on a position of the movable mirror unit.

Lighting control device, vehicular lamp, and lighting control method

There are provided a lighting control device, a vehicular lamp, and a lighting control method which can prevent visibility in front of a driver of a vehicle from decreasing. The lighting control device controls a light distribution state by a vehicular headlamp, and includes: an obstacle detection part that detects an obstacle from an image in front of a subject vehicle taken by a camera; a light-shielding area deriving part that derives a first light-shielding area of a left headlamp attached to a front left side of the vehicle, and a second light-shielding area of a right headlamp attached to a front right side of the vehicle according to a position of the obstacle when the obstacle detection part detects the obstacle; and a light distribution control part that controls a light distribution state of the right headlamp and a light distribution state of the left headlamp according to the first light-shielding area and the second light-shielding area derived by the light-shielding area deriving part. The first light-shielding area and the second light-shielding area are different from each other.

Optical module for a motor vehicle and locking in position of a component of the module by an elastically deformable clamping element

An optical module, used for lighting and/or signalling purposes for a motor vehicle, includes a support delimiting a compartment for receiving a functional component such as a fan. A clamping element, preferably produced as a single part, can be used to block an opening of the compartment and lock the component in its operational position. The clamping element, separate from the support and provided with two arms, is engaged and clipped on against at least one engaging protrusion formed laterally on the support in order to achieve the locking. An elastic return effect of at least one of the two arms allows the clamping element to be engaged at the rear of the protrusion and held in place. For unlocking, a flexible actuation portion formed in the clamping element can be actuated in order to move one of the two arms outwards and allow unclipping to take place.

Lighting devices and systems with orientation detection and control

Lighting systems, devices, and units that provide illumination according to a detected orientation relative to a reference plane or a reference vector. In some examples, a light bar for use on a vehicle includes first and second sets of light emitters that are selectively activated and inactive based on a detected orientation of the light bar relative to a reference plane or reference vector.
