The system circuit further includes a user-operated button electrically connected to the battery, to a vehicle horn, and to an input port of the system computer. The system computer is electrically connected to a light relay module via an output port, and the light relay module is connected to a vehicle exterior light. The system computer processor can be programmed to illuminate or flash the exterior light as desired. The system may further include a vehicle audio output device and light system switch and may also include a vehicle main computer electrically connected to the light relay module.

LIGHT STRIP COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A communication system that utilizes a light strip to carry data using the power and ground connections of the light strip. When used in the context of a truck and trailer, the system may include a sensor node configured to obtain status information about trailer components, and a data hub for collecting the information. The data about the trailer components may be transferred from the sensor node to the data hub using the power and/or ground connections of the light strip. The sensor node may communicate using the light strip by changing the current level of the light strip power connection, and these changes in the current level may be used by the data hub as a signal by which the data may be received.

A light assembly for attachment to a surface. The light assembly includes a base configured to be coupled to the surface and a light head coupled to the base and including a light source. The light head is movable relative to the base from a predetermined position. The light assembly further includes a motor coupled to the base and the light head to move the light head relative to the base and a remote configured to control movement of the light head with respect to the base. The remote including an actuator operable to return the light head to the predetermined position.

PROJECTION ALERTING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES AND RELATED METHODS

A system for alerting motorists travelling on a roadway in a vicinity of a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes one or more projector units, and a respective attachment structure for each of the one or more projector units for attaching the projector units to a portion of the vehicle. The one or more projector units are configured and arranged to project a light signal on to at least a portion of the roadway adjacent the vehicle and in a travel path of the motorist. The one or more projector units include at least one light flare projector unit and/or at least one signage projector unit. A school bus incorporating the system is also disclosed. A method for alerting motorists travelling on a roadway in the vicinity of a vehicle is also disclosed.

A flexible, sheet-like, multi-layered lighting assembly for applying to a surface. The lighting assembly includes an on-board power source for powering the lighting assembly. The lighting assembly includes a sheet-like electroluminescent light source that is activated by power from the power source, and when activated, emits light. The power source may include a flexible thin sheet-like battery, a wireless power receiver, or a combination thereof. The wireless power receiver may receive power from a power signal generated by a wireless power transmitter; and may operate to directly power the electroluminescent light source, or may recharge the battery. The lighting assembly includes outer and inner polymer layers for protecting the other layers of the lighting assembly, and an adhesive layer on the inner polymer layer for adhering the lighting assembly to a surface.

The connector assembly is electrically coupled to the diode assembly. A first channel is defined between a first arm and a main portion of the module, and a second channel defined between a second arm and the main portion of the module. A cap is removably coupled to the connector assembly configured for partially housing a pair of wires receiving in the connector assembly.

An LED retrofit signaling lamp is described herein. The lamp includes a lamp body, which includes a cap, a projection part, and a burner part between the cap and the projection part. Power contacts are exposed from the cap. A projection LED light source is provided in the projection part and angled to provide a projected image near to the vehicle when activated. A signaling LED light source is provided in the burner part angled to emit non-projected light via the projection part at angles that avoid the emitted light being blocked by the projection LED light source. The projection LED light source and the signaling LED light source are electrically coupled to the power contacts in parallel to each other.
