CRASH-EVENT DRIVEN COLLAPSIBLE TRAY TABLES FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES
A safety apparatus may include a tray table coupled to an interior surface of a vehicle via a release mechanism. The safety apparatus may also include a collision detection system communicatively coupled to the release mechanism. The collision detection system is configured to engage with the release mechanism if the tray table is in an open position, and to de-couple the tray table from the interior surface of the vehicle or to break away the tray table from a portion of a tray table structure if a collision is detected with respect to the vehicle.
Vehicle crossbar movable along pillars
An assembly for a vehicle includes a first pillar and a second pillar spaced cross-vehicle from the first pillar. The assembly includes a crossbar movably supported by the first pillar and the second pillar. The crossbar is movable along the first pillar and the second pillar from a raised position to a lowered position. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the crossbar.
Vehicular safety system for controlling a safety feature
A vehicular safety system includes a rear camera, a left side camera and a right side camera disposed at a vehicle. A control includes an image processor for processing image data captured by the cameras to detect a rear-approaching vehicle that is approaching from rearward of the equipped vehicle. When reverse gear of the equipped vehicle is not engaged, and responsive to determination of a potential collision between the detected rear-approaching vehicle and the equipped vehicle, a safety feature of the equipped vehicle is triggered before actual impact occurs. If actual impact does not occur, the triggered safety feature returns to its condition that existed prior to the determination of the potential collision between the detected rear-approaching vehicle and the equipped vehicle. Operation of the safety feature when the reverse gear is engaged is different from operation of the safety feature when the reverse gear is not engaged.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE MOTION MITIGATION DURING IMPACT
According to one aspect, a method includes identifying a condition relating to an impact on a vehicle by an object, the vehicle including at least one anchor mechanism, the at least one anchor mechanism configured to anchor the vehicle to a surface. The method also includes determining whether the condition indicates that the anchor mechanism is to be deployed, and deploying the anchor mechanism when it is determined that the condition indicates that the anchor mechanism is to be deployed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEDICAL DIAGNOSTICS AND MEDICATION DELIVERY
The present disclosure relates to a medical diagnostic and delivery device that includes a mouthguard, a dental brace or a denture. The device can be positioned within a mouth or a buccal cavity of a user. A housing of the device can be shaped to be removably secured within the buccal cavity of the user, for example, include grooves shaped and sized to match a dental bite of the user. The device includes a cartridge containing one more substances or medications configured to be delivered to a user in the form a liquid, particles, or fine mist. Any suitable first air medication can be contained within the cartridge such as epinephrine, blood thinners, painkillers, vitamins or any other suitable drugs for limiting the extent of injury.
System and method for adjusting an interior configuration of a vehicle in response to a vehicular accident
A system and method are provided for controlling an interior configuration of a vehicle. The system may include an interior vehicle component; an actuator component configured to adjust/restrict movement of a physical configuration of the interior vehicle component; one or more sensors configured to collect data corresponding to a state of the vehicle, an action of the vehicle, and/or an internal or external environment of the vehicle; and one or more processors configured to receive sensor data and detect, by processing the sensor data, a vehicle accident condition. After the one or more processors detect the vehicle accident condition, the one or more processors may cause the actuator component to adjust the interior vehicle component from a first physical configuration to a second physical configuration, or may cause the actuator component to restrict movement of the interior vehicle component to a predetermined range of physical configurations.
SLEEPING BEDSHEET CRASH PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR LIE-FLAT SLEEPING PASSENGER
A sleeping occupant crash protection system includes an occupant sleeping compartment positioned within an autonomous vehicle. A substantially flat platform of the occupant sleeping compartment supports an occupant reclining in a horizontal sleep position. An elastic bedsheet is positioned in direct contact with an upper surface of the platform positioned between the occupant and the platform. A sensing system is in communication with the occupant sleeping compartment and triggers deployment of a bedsheet displacement system during a vehicle rapid deceleration event.
PANORAMIC WINDOW SAFETY SYSTEM AND VEHICLE HAVING THE SAME
A panoramic window safety system applied to a vehicle moves a piston in a piston movement space of a piston carriage by a gas pressure of an inflator located on the bottom portion of a panoramic window space, and switches a wire that forms a side bending arrangement in the panoramic window space into an intermediate linear arrangement by a forward movement of the piston to be stood perpendicular to the panoramic window space to support an airbag covering the panoramic window space, preventing the risk of a passenger leaving when a panoramic window having the size at which the upper body of a passenger is exposed is damaged to meet the North American regulations that prescribe preventing the passenger from leaving.
VEHICULAR SAFETY SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING A SAFETY FEATURE
A vehicular safety system includes a rearward-viewing camera, a forward-viewing camera and an interior-viewing camera configured to be disposed at a vehicle. Image data captured by the forward-viewing camera is processed for (i) headlamp control, (ii) lane departure warning and/or (iii) object detection. Image data captured by the interior-viewing camera is processed for internal cabin surveillance. Responsive at least in part to processing of image data captured by at least one selected from the group consisting of (i) the rearward-viewing camera, (ii) the forward-viewing camera and (iii) the interior-viewing camera, and when reverse gear of the vehicle is not engaged, and responsive to determination of a potential collision involving the vehicle, a safety feature of the vehicle is triggered before actual collision occurs. If actual collision does not occur, the triggered safety feature returns to its condition that existed prior to determination of the potential collision.
