MULTILAYER FILMS FOR AIRBAG APPLICATIONS AND RELATED METHODS
A multilayer film is provided that includes a) a barrier layer including a thermoplastic polyester elastomer or a polyamide copolymer; b) an intermediate layer provided on the barrier layer and including a maleic anhydride (MAH)-grafted polyolefin and an a-olefin copolymer; and c) an adhesive layer provided on the intermediate layer and including a thermoplastic polyester elastomer or a polyamide copolymer. The multilayer film enables production of gas-tight multilayer laminates which exhibit an excellent peel resistance combined with a low weight and/or thickness. Further, a multilayer laminate and an inflatable airbag that include a fabric layer adhered to the multilayer film, as well as methods of manufacturing are described.

The present disclosure provides advantageous hybrid knitted fabrics and composite materials including hybrid knitted fabrics, and improved systems/methods for utilizing and/or fabricating the hybrid knitted fabrics and composite materials. More particularly, the present disclosure provides layered composite materials including hybrid knitted fabrics, the layered composite materials advantageously configured for non-score deployable passenger airbag applications.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A PROTECTION DEVICE
A method for manufacturing a protection device is described. The protection device comprises an inflatable element configured to assume an active inflated condition and a rest deflated condition. The inflatable element includes a knitted body having a closed structure on at least four sides or walls and/or having at least a partially tubular shape, and defining an inner area or inner chamber. The knitted body includes also union threads crossing the inner chamber.
KNITTED SEAT TRIM COVER WITH INTEGRAL AIRBAG POCKET
A knitted seat trim cover for use on a vehicle seat equipped with an airbag assembly includes a first knitted panel with a first edge and a second knitted panel with a second edge. The first edge is positioned adjacent the second edge to define an airbag deployment zone. The seat trim cover also includes a pocket panel integrally knit with the first knitted panel and the second knitted panel. The pocket panel defines an airbag pocket configured to hold at least a portion of the airbag assembly.

A protection device with an inflatable element apt to assume an active inflated condition and a rest deflated condition. The inflatable element includes a knitted body having a closed structure on at least four sides or walls and having a partially tubular shape to define an inner area or inner chamber. The knitted body includes a plurality of union threads occupying at least partially the inner area and apt to connect two faces or walls of the knitted body.
