FOOT SUPPORT DEVICE FOR A FOOTWELL OF A VEHICLE
The present disclosure provides a foot support device for a footwell of a vehicle. The present disclosure includes a plurality of support elements arranged one behind the other and rotatably connected to one another. The plurality of support elements can each move from a rest position to an active position upon the detection of a predetermined driving situation. When set in the rest position, the plurality of support elements are each arranged parallel to the floor of the footwell, and when set in the active position, the plurality of support elements are each inclined with respect to the floor of the footwell to support at least one foot of an occupant. The foot support device includes a drive arrangement lifting at least a foremost support element to the active position, which causes movement of a subsequent support element.

A system and method for evaluating and reporting of trauma to organs of passengers in a vehicular crash in real time is provided. The systems and methods include and use one or more in-vehicle sensors, a processor, a server, and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media to analyze a crash and trauma to passengers. The systems and methods may be further configured to optimize operation of a vehicle to minimize trauma.

A pneumatic identification apparatus for the body weight of a seat occupant includes a control unit and at least one sensing apparatus each including a pneumatic sensing apparatus and an auxiliary sensing apparatus; the pneumatic sensing apparatus includes at least one soft elastic hollow structure body and a sensing unit; the soft elastic hollow structure body communicates with a first air pressure sensor, the first air pressure sensor being configured to measure a first air pressure value P.sub.a in the soft elastic hollow structure body; the control unit is configured to compare the first air pressure value P.sub.a with standard set values and correspondingly output a body weight type; and the auxiliary sensing apparatus includes a top pressure-bearing plate and a bottom carrying plate respectively mounted on two end faces of the soft elastic hollow structure body. Further provided is a pneumatic identification seat provided with the pneumatic identification apparatus.

An occupant position detection system includes an imaging device configured to capture an image of an occupant seated on a seat provided in an interior of a vehicle, a sensor provided on the seat, a first calculating unit configured to calculate a first position of the occupant from the image captured by the imaging device, a second calculating unit configured to calculate a second position of the occupant from a detection result of the sensor, an occupant position calculating unit configured to calculate an occupant position by fusing the first position and the second position, and an output unit configured to output information on the occupant position calculated by the occupant position calculating unit, to a safety device.

An occupant protection device for a vehicle includes: a collision predictor configured to predict a collision of the vehicle; a main airbag configured to deploy toward an occupant from a front of the vehicle when the collision predictor predicts a collision of the vehicle; an occupant center-of-gravity detecting device configured to detect a position of a center of gravity of the occupant; an armrest moving device configured to move an armrest; and a deployment controller configured to cause, when the collision predictor predicts a collision of the vehicle, the armrest moving device to move the armrest upward to guide the center of gravity of the occupant into a proper range on the basis of the position of the center of gravity of the occupant detected by the occupant center-of-gravity detecting device, subsequently cause the armrest moving device to remove the armrest, and thereafter, cause the main airbag to deploy.

A seat occupancy sensor unit for recognizing occupancy of a vehicle seat. The sensor unit includes a mounting plate, a membrane switch which responds to pressure, and at least one support element which is arranged between the top of the mounting plate and the membrane switch. The at least one support element has a developable, convexly curved surface, which is provided for the purpose, in at least one operating state, of coming into at least partial contact with the membrane switch at least at the location of the at least one active switching element. A vehicle seat is provided, which comprises a seat base for supporting a person in a sitting position, a seat cushion with a foam element for padding the seat base, and a seat occupancy sensor unit. The foam element includes on the bottom thereof a recess for accommodating the seat occupancy sensor unit.
SEATING DETECTION METHOD AND SEATING DETECTION DEVICE
A seating detection method includes: detecting whether a seat belt sensor in a vehicle seat is in an ON state or an OFF state; detecting whether a pressure sensitive sensor in a seat skin constituting a seating surface is in an ON state or an OFF state; and determining a foreign object insertion state in which a foreign object is inserted between the seating surface and a child seat based on whether the seat belt sensor is in the ON state or the OFF state and whether the pressure sensitive sensor is in the ON state or the OFF state. When the pressure sensitive sensor is changed from the ON state to the OFF state in a state in which the seat belt sensor is maintained in the ON state after the seat belt sensor is changed to the ON state, it is determined as the foreign object insertion state.
