The vehicle includes main doors with locks that are remotely lockable and unlockable using main door lock actuators. Vehicle includes a vehicle controller that receives a user signal from a user, first determines a main door actuation command based on the first signal, and first transmits, based on the main door actuation command, a first actuation command signal to the main door lock actuators. The system includes accessory lock actuator(s) operably coupled to the accessory lock(s), accessory lock controller(s) operably coupled to the accessory lock actuator(s), and a gateway controller operably coupled to the vehicle controller. Gateway controller second determines an accessory lock actuation command based on the first actuation command signal, and second transmits, based on the accessory lock actuation command, a gateway signal to the accessory lock controller.
VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM
The present disclosure provides an apparatus, method and system for use with a vehicle having passive keyless entry and start (PKES) system including a vehicle unit and a key fob storage unit. The vehicle unit is to be installed with the vehicle having a first transceiver, a first relay transceiver an authentication unit, a first controller for controlling said first relay transceiver allowing said transmission if said user is authenticated. The key fob storage unit comprises at least one housing for securely holding at least one key fob associated with said PKES systems of said vehicles, a second, said second wireless relay w wherein said first relay transceiver and said second relay transceiver allows said PKES system and said key fob to communicate from a distance larger than a range of said PKES system signals.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FACILITATING USER ACCESS TO VEHICLES BASED ON BIOMETRIC INFORMATION
Systems and methods are provided for authorizing a user to access an access-controlled environment. The system includes a system server platform that communicates with mobile devices (e.g., smartphones) and on-board vehicle computing devices accessed by users. The embodiments enable a series of operations whereby a user accessing a vehicle is prompted to biometrically authenticate using the user's smartphone or on-board vehicle computer. In addition, the system can further authorize the user and electronically facilitate access to the vehicle as well as perform other authorized operations relating to the use of the vehicle. In addition the vehicle access system integrates with various computing devices and computer-based services accessible to the user. The systems and methods also facilitate active monitoring of the vehicle occupants and environmental conditions using optical sensors and the like so as to enhance security, convenience and safety of the occupants during use of the vehicle.
Systems and methods for data storage in keyed devices
A content storage system integrates with locking, engine, and other control systems in a vehicle. The system includes a portable storage device comprising a processor, a storage module in electronic communication with the processor, and a wireless communication module. A wireless device is in electronic communication with the wireless communication module of the portable storage device. A transponder is installed in a vehicle configured to transmit a signal on a wire. The wireless device detects the signal on the wire from the transponder and stores the signal. The wireless device is transmits the signal on the wire in response to a command from the portable storage device.
ENHANCED AUTOMOTIVE PASSIVE ENTRY
Methods and devices are provided for allowing a mobile device (e.g., a key fob or a consumer electronic device, such as a mobile phone, watch, or other wearable device) to interact with a vehicle such that a location of the mobile device can be determined by the vehicle, thereby enabling certain functionality of the vehicle. A device may include both RF antenna(s) and magnetic antenna(s) for determining a location of a mobile device relative to the vehicle. Such a hybrid approach can provide various advantages. Existing magnetic coils on a mobile device (e.g., for charging or communication) may be re-used for distance measurements that are supplemented by the RF measurements. Any device antenna may provide measurements to a machine learning model that determines a region in which the mobile device resides, based on training measurements in the regions.
Passive Entry/Passive Start Systems And Methods For Vehicles
A sensor is configured to receive connection information from a portable device via a communication gateway in a vehicle and to communicate with a portable device using impulse radio (IR) ultra-wide band (UWB) communication based on the connection information. A location of the portable device is determined based on ranging using IR UWB communication.
Up-sampling and cross-correlation for time of arrival determinations in passive entry/passive start systems
An access system for a vehicle includes a receiver and an access module. The receiver is configured to receive a signal transmitted from a portable access device to the vehicle. The access module is configured to: generate a differentiated signal based on the received signal; up-sample the differentiated signal to generate a first up-sampled signal; obtain or generate an expected signal; up-sample the expected signal to generate a second up-sampled signal; cross-correlate the first up-sampled signal and the second up-sampled signal to generate a cross-correlation signal; based on the cross-correlation signal, determine a phase difference between the first up-sampled signal and the second up-sampled signal; determine a round trip time of the signal received by the receiver; and permit access to the vehicle based on the round trip time.
METHOD AND VEHICLE DOOR LOCK SYSTEM FOR MANAGING ACCESS TO THE VEHICLE
A vehicle door lock system includes: a door lock; a vehicle event sensor; and a processing circuitry, the processing circuitry is configured to cause the vehicle door lock system to generate first triggering event data, indicative of a first triggering event detected by the vehicle event sensor, caused by a movement of an object onto, or in the vicinity of, the vehicle, at a first time, obtain, from a portable electronic device, second triggering event data, indicative of a second triggering event caused by a movement of the portable electronic device, at a second time, determine if the first triggering event and the second triggering event both occurs within a predetermined time period by comparing the first triggering event data and the second triggering event data.
SECURITY SYSTEM
A security system includes a portable terminal, a communication device communicating with the portable terminal, and a determination unit determining validity of the portable terminal. Phase data acquired from distance measuring radio wave is used to determine validity of communication between the portable terminal and the communication device. The received phase data of the distance measuring radio wave varies according to the distance from a transmission source. When the communication device and the portable terminal are fixed, and the communication device and the portable terminal have transmitted and received distance measuring radio waves having the same specific frequency, vehicle acquisition phase data and terminal acquisition phase data are the same. The determination unit determines, by using this two types of phase data, the validity of communication between the communication device and the portable terminal is determined.
