A vehicle anti-theft device for deterring vehicle theft includes a housing that is coupled to a sidewall of the vehicle. A first power module and an actuator are coupled to the housing and are positioned in an internal space defined by the housing. The actuator is operationally coupled to the first power module. A brake pedal, which is operationally coupled to a braking system of the vehicle, is pivotally coupled to the sidewall of the vehicle proximate to the housing. A first coupler is coupled to the actuator and extends from an opening in the housing. A second coupler, which is complementary to the first coupler, is coupled to the brake pedal. The actuator is positioned to motivate the first coupler to reversibly and selectively couple to the second coupler when the brake pedal is depressed. The braking system of the vehicle is engageable to reduce the risk of theft.

A vehicle anti-theft device that is configured to be surroundably mount a brake pedal inhibiting access thereto and as such disabling features of the vehicle such as but not limited to starting of the vehicle. The invention includes a housing having a plurality of walls forming an interior volume being of suitable size to accommodate a vehicle brake pedal therein. The housing includes a front wall that is hingedly mounted operable to move between an open and closed position. A top wall is slidably secured to the housing so as to facilitate placement of the housing around the vehicle brake pedal. A wedge member is placed within the interior volume of the housing and is configured to engage the brake pedal applying an upwards bias thereagainst so as to inhibit movement of the vehicle brake pedal. A lateral stability member is secured to the housing to inhibit lateral movement thereof.

A pedal lock includes an elongate frame. A first locking mechanism operating a swivel bar pivoted at distal end of the elongate frame is installed. The swivel bar is pivotable in quarter turns between a horizontal first position, in which the pedal is locked, and a second vertical unlocked position. A mounting member extends from the elongate frame to anchor onto a fixed part of a vehicle body to immovably affix the pedal lock relative to the vehicle. A first and second lock can be provided to secure the pedal lock in the locked position. A sliding mechanism enables a single step hand actuation to simultaneously lock both locks. To unlock, each of the two locks can be unlocked individually by key before the pedal lock can be released.
