A vehicle windshield wiper assembly includes a filter member. The filter member is mounted to a radially inwardly facing surface of an upper area of a cylindrically shaped portion of a water diverting member below portions of a support panel above a wiper drive mechanism. The filter member encircles a shaft housing of the wiper drive mechanism and is shaped and dimensioned to allow flow of water from a first shaft opening in the support panel therethrough and restrict flow of debris from the first shaft opening therethrough.

The invention relates to a fastening arrangement (10) comprising a wiper bearing (11) of a windscreen wiper arrangement of a vehicle. A wiper bracket includes a wiper support plate portion including a shaft support portion which rotatably supports a pivot shaft of the wiper, a leg portion having a shape of a plate which intersects an upper-lower direction and extending from a lower end side of the wiper support plate portion toward the dash panel on a rear side, and a fixed plate portion having a shape of a plate which intersects the front-rear direction, extending upward or downward from a rear end of the leg portion, and fixed to the dash panel. A windshield wiper assembly for a vehicle having a drive device provided with an electric motor having a pole-well, and a transmission that can be driven by the electric motor, which is operatively connected to at least one wiper arm, and having a device for fastening the drive device to the vehicle. The device is provided with a tab surrounding the pole-well of the electric motor on the peripheral side, at least in some areas, which is provided with a free end, which protrudes from the pole-well and which is fastened to the vehicle.

A windshield assembly includes a laminated windshield provided with a cutout and a motor mounting plate secured to the laminated windshield over the cutout. The motor mounting plate includes a first mounting area. An exterior motor cover plate is secured on an exterior side of the laminated windshield and overlays the cutout in facing relation with the motor mounting plate. The exterior motor cover includes a second mounting area in alignment with the first mounting area. The structure distributes forces encountered by the wiper and motor over a large area on the glass. Also, due to a small footprint, the view through the windshield is less obstructed. The structure also eliminates the need for drilling/aligning holes in laminated glass.

A wiper subassembly for a motor vehicle has a windshield wiper retention member connected by a front connection arrangement in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle to a first bodywork component and by a rear connection arrangement to a second bodywork component. In order to optimize the crash behavior of a wiper subassembly, the front connection is arranged to be configured, when a threshold force which acts in the longitudinal direction between the windshield wiper retention member and the first bodywork component is exceeded, to give way so that the first bodywork component can be moved to the rear relative to the windshield wiper retention member.
