CLEANING UNIT AND METHOD FOR CLEANING AN OPTICAL SENSOR DEVICE

A cleaning unit for cleaning a sensor window pane of an optical sensing device, in particular for optical distance measurement, more in particular a LiDAR sensor device, of a motor vehicle. The cleaning unit comprises a wiper. Further, the cleaning unit comprises a drive unit which is arranged for wiping the wiper over the sensor window pane. Advantageously, the cleaning unit can be arranged for wiping a first portion of the wiper, such as a first wiper tip, over the sensor window pane from a first position towards a second position to wipe at least a first portion of the sensor window pane located between said first and second positions. The cleaning unit can then also be arranged for moving the wiper back from said second position substantially towards said first position without said first portion of the wiper wiping over said first portion of the sensor window pane.

Track-guided wiper system and method

A wiper system for use with a windshield includes a track guide, a wiper assembly, a drive mechanism and a wipe mechanism. The wiper assembly has a wiper arm attached at a first end thereof to a rotor rotatably disposed on a wiper carrier, wherein the wiper carrier is engaged with the track guide and is configured for translation therealong. The drive mechanism is connected with the wiper carrier and is configured for positioning the wiper carrier along the track guide. The wipe mechanism is connected with at least one of the rotor and the wiper carrier and is configured to cause the rotor to rotate, thereby causing the wiper arm to produce a wiping motion.

A vehicle wiper system includes a plurality of first sensor elements, an adjustable wiper, and a second sensor. The plurality of first sensor elements is configured to be disposed at a periphery of a vehicle window to form a boundary. The adjustable wiper has a distal end and a proximal end, and an adjustment mechanism that enables a distance between the distal end and the proximal end to change. The adjustable wiper is configured to travel along a windshield to define a wiper path. The second sensor element is disposed adjacent the distal end, and is configured to operate in conjunction with the first sensor element to adjust the adjustable wiper such that a distance between the distal end and the proximal end changes, and a distance between the distal end of the wiper and the boundary remains substantially consistent as the adjustable wiper travels along the wiper path.

Wiper linkage system

A wiper linkage system directly transmits rotating force of a motor to one wiper arm. The wiper linkage system includes: a gear housing installed on a wiper motor, a pipe rod installed on the gear housing, a crank arm installed on an output shaft of the wiper motor, a first wiper arm installed on a first end of the crank arm by a rotating shaft, a pivot housing assembled with the pipe rod, and a second wiper arm operated by a link structure including a link unit coupled to a second end of the crank arm and the pivot housing. In particular, a first end of the pipe rod is fixed to a vehicle body by a pipe mounting.
