Vehicle external component having reduced vortex shedding
A windshield wiper arm is provided on an outside of an aircraft and positioned to directly engage an air flow while the aircraft is traveling. The wiper arm includes an arm portion coupled to the aircraft and having an arm exterior surface, the arm portion extending along an arm axis and defining an arm length. A bead extends outwardly from the arm exterior surface and defines a bead exterior surface, the bead being sized sufficiently to engage a boundary layer of the air flow. A wiper blade is coupled to the arm portion. The bead prevents separation of the boundary layer from the arm exterior surface, thereby to attenuate shedding of vortices and associated vibrations and noise.
Wiper arm with pantograph dynamic action
Wiper arm (1) with pantograph dynamic action, comprising a main rod (2a) and a secondary rod (2b), characterized in that of the said main rod (2a) and secondary rod (2b) each comprises a negative lift surface profile the cross section of which is delimited by an upper side (25a, 25b), a lower side (26a, 26b), and, in the direction of the air flow, an anterior edge (23a, 23b) referred to as the leading edge and a posterior edge (24a, 24b) referred to as the trailing edge opposite the leading edge (23a, 23b),
and in that, in the position as mounted on a vehicle, the arm (1) is positioned with respect to the vehicle surface that is to be wiped in such a way that the said lower sides (26a, 26b) of the cross sections of the rods (2a, 2b) face towards the surface that is to be wiped, so as to press the arm (1) more firmly against the surface that is to be wiped.
Connector between a wiper blade and a drive arm
The invention relates to a connector (1) for a windscreen-wiper blade (2), said connector (1) being configured such as to engage with an adapter (3) for enabling a connection between said blade (2) and a drive arm, said connector (1) including a body (10) and a cover (30) which is movable on said body (10) along a hinge axis (X), said cover (30) including at least one means (31) for hinging on said body (10) and at least one first slot (32), said one or more first slots (32) being located on one or more side portions (33) of said cover (30) such as to form flexible areas (42), said one or more flexible areas (42) including the one or more hinging means (31). The invention also relates to an attachment device including an adapter (3) and a connector (1) such as previously described. The invention further relates to a windscreen-wiper blade (2) including such an attachment device. The invention finally relates to a wiping system including such a windscreen-wiper blade.
WIPER LEVER ASSEMBLY AND WIPER BLADE
A wiper blade includes a wiper lever assembly with a tournament structure. The wiper lever assembly includes a main lever and a pair of movable covers. The two length direction sides of the main lever and the movable covers are respectively formed with fin surfaces each having a downward gradient on progression toward a vehicle front side, and main housing compartments and movable housing compartments that are open toward a wiping surface. A pair of yoke levers are respectively housed spanning inside the main housing compartments and inside the movable housing compartments, and are coupled so as to be capable of pivoting to the main lever and to the movable covers. The main housing compartments, the movable housing compartments, and the yoke levers each has a greater height dimension at a rear side than at a front side.
WIPER BLADE ASSEMBLY
The present invention relates to a wiper blade assembly including a primary lever, a secondary lever disposed to be adjacent to the primary lever, a secondary lever connecting structure coupled to the secondary lever, and a yoke member hinge-coupled to the secondary lever connecting structure, wherein the yoke member includes a claw portion, the claw portion being moved apart from the secondary lever and in the present invention, claw portions coupled to both ends of a contact member may be disposed in certain regions of yoke members and the yoke members may be moved apart from secondary levers such that the claw portions may be moved apart from the secondary levers to allow for improvements in the property of following the curvature of glass, thereby wiping performance of a wiper.
Adapter for connecting a windscreen wiper blade to a driving arm
Adapter (26, 26′) for connecting a windscreen wiper blade (12) to a driving arm (14), the adapter (26, 26′) having a ‘U’-section formed by a base and two flanks (42a, 42b) delimiting a housing (45) in which: at least one (42a) of the flanks is formed by at least two walls (42aa, 42bb) separated from one another by at least one cavity (63, 64), and at least one protuberance (60) is connected to at least one of the walls (42aa, 42ab, 42ba, 42bb) and extends at least in part inside said housing (45).
