A sensor cleaning system, having a pump, a tank containing a fluid, the tank in fluid communication with the pump, a nozzle, at least one valve in fluid communication with the pump and the nozzle, and a sensor unit which controls the pump. During a first mode of operation, the valve is placed in a first configuration, and the pump transfers fluid from the tank, through the sensor unit, and back to the tank. During a second mode of operation, the valve is placed in a second configuration, and the pump transfers fluid from the tank, through the sensor unit, to the nozzle. During both modes of operation, heat is transferred from the sensor unit to the fluid as the fluid passes through the sensor unit, increasing the temperature of the fluid. The heated fluid sprayed from the nozzle is used to clean a detection component, such as a sensor.

Vehicle windshield cleaning system

Apparatus for providing heated cleaning fluid to a vehicle surface includes an inlet port for receiving an amount of fluid, a housing bounding a reservoir in fluid communication with the inlet port, and an outlet port in fluid communication with the reservoir for dispensing an amount of heated fluid. A heater element heats fluid passing from the inlet port to the outlet port through the reservoir. A heat exchanger in thermal contact with the heater element for conveying heat to fluid within the reservoir has a strut that divides fluid entering the housing through the inlet port into two flow paths and elongated fins extending outwardly from the strut at transverse angles that bound fluid flow channels for fluid moving through the reservoir. A control circuit energizes the heater element to heat the heating element and the fluid passing from the inlet port to the outlet port through the reservoir.

Roof module comprising a cleaning feature

A roof module for forming a vehicle roof on a motor vehicle, the roof module having a panel component, which at least partially forms a roof skin of the vehicle roof, the roof skin serving as an outer sealing surface of the roof module, at least one electrical and/or electronic and/or electromagnetic component, in particular an environment sensor and/or a light feature, configured to send and/or receive electromagnetic signals through a see-through area, and at least one cleaning feature having at least one cleaning nozzle configured to spray a cleaning fluid by means of which the see-through area is cleanable. The at least one component is in heat-transferring connection with the cleaning feature in such a manner that waste heat of the at least one component can be transferred to the cleaning fluid and/or the at least one cleaning nozzle.
