The carrier further provides a plurality of outlets each of which communicate between a hollow passage inside the carrier and a location on the external surface of the carrier. A fluid can be delivered from a fluid source fluidicly coupled to the hollow passage of the carrier under sufficient pressure to be dispersed from the plurality of outlets onto the windshield during movement of the blade. A fluid heater can be thermally coupled with the fluid delivered from the fluid source to the plurality of outlets to increase the temperature of the fluid dispersed onto the windshield. The fluid can be sufficiently heated to generate a heated gas.

Multiple engaging frames are evenly disposed on each secondary wiper frame. Each engaging frame includes a pressing wing and a sliding block. The sliding block includes a neck bar with a passing diameter. The passing diameter is less than the trough width. The sliding block of each engaging frame passes through the opening and abuts against each sliding trough through the neck bar. The sliding block is slidable in each sliding trough with a change of an external force exerted on corresponding one of the secondary wiper frames.

The system, based on processing of image data captured by the camera, is operable to determine presence of a substance at an outer surface of the windshield. The system includes a windshield wiper having a rubber wiping blade and a cleaning element. The system is operable to (i) cause the rubber wiping blade to engage the windshield and/or (ii) cause the cleaning element to engage the windshield. Responsive to determining presence of the substance, the system causes the cleaning element to engage the windshield. With the rubber wiping blade and/or cleaning element engaging the outer surface of the windshield, the system moves the rubber wiping blade and/or cleaning element along the windshield.

The present invention relates to a windshield wiper blade device primarily comprised of a body further comprised of at least one channel, a first blade insert, a second blade insert, a cleaning attachment that is received by the second blade insert and a wiper attachment mechanism. The first and second blade inserts are generally T-shaped and can each be placed into a T-shaped channel within the body. The first blade insert acts as a traditional windshield wiper blade and the second blade insert comprises a generally cylindrical cleaning attachment. The cleaning attachment is positioned in front of (i.e., closer to the windshield than) the first blade insert, such that the cleaning attachment dislodges any insects or heavy debris on the windshield before the first blade insert cleans precipitation off of a windshield.
