VEHICLE WASHING SYSTEM AND METHOD
Washing devices comprise an integrally formed brush component including a hub having a central axis and a plurality of bristles. Each bristle includes a shaft extending from the hub and having outwardly extending cleaning structures. The bristles extend radially from the central axis of the hub. A cylindrical support comprises a webbing having an array of holes positioned to receive the bristles of the brush component, each of the bristles being received within and extending outwardly from respective holes in the webbing. Alternate embodiments comprise an integrally-formed, linear brush component including a plurality of connected hub elements, each hub element carrying a bristle. Each bristle includes an elongated shaft having multiple cleaning structures extending outwardly. A webbing comprises an array of holes positioned to receive the bristles of the linear brush component, each of the bristles being received within and extending outwardly from respective holes in the webbing.
Encoder and programmable logic controller (PLC) implementation for a rotary brush automatic car wash system
This invention relates to an automatic vehicle wash apparatus employing one or more rotary cloth or foam rubber brushes, and more particularly to the way how the rotary brush to vehicle surface contact is managed using one or more encoders connected to the rotating shaft of each brush and one or more programmable logic controllers (PLC). The encoders, recording the revolutions per minute (RPM) of each brush shaft, provide input to the programmable logic controller. If the RPM value is at or above the high RPM limit, the pivoted boom will move the brush toward the vehicle to achieve a desired brush-to-washable surface contact. If, on the other hand, the RPM value is at or below the low RPM limit, the pivoted boom will move the brush away from the vehicle to achieve a desired brush-to-washable surface contact.
Apparatus and method for treating a vehicle surface with a fluid
An apparatus for treating a vehicle surface with a fluid has a rotation device pivotably mounted about an axis of rotation, and a fluid supply device disposed concentrically with respect to the rotation device and which has an inlet opening for the supply of fluid. The apparatus is characterized in that a groove is formed in the fluid supply device. The groove is fluidically connected to the inlet opening and extends in the circumferential direction with respect to the axis of rotation over a limited circumferential angle range of the fluid supply device. The rotation device has a plurality of separate fluid channels, each of which opens into openings. The openings are disposed such that irrespective of the angular position of the rotation device to the fluid supply device with respect to the axis of rotation, and at least one of the openings of the rotation device is fluidically connected to the groove of the fluid supply device.
Inline vertical tack-off machine for automobile side panels
An inline vertical tack-off system for cleaning vehicular bodies that eliminates the need to spatially dispose rotating brushes and thereby enhance the cleaning efficiency while reducing the space occupied by the apparatus by vertically aligning a plurality of cleaning brushes to clean the full height of a vehicle body. Additionally, the apparatus includes a positioning system which allows the tack-off brushes to move in relation to any of a variety of vehicular bodies by adjusting the distance between the brushes and the vehicle body under the control of a program, as well as by controlling the tilt of the brushes match the vehicle contours and thereby optimize the contact force applied by the brushes to the vehicular surface being cleaned. Also, the system includes a vortex enhanced plenum utilized to evacuate ambient air and contaminant particles.
PENDULUM ROCKER BRUSH ASSEMBLY
A pendulum rocker brush for a vehicle wash system is provided including a rocker arm, a rotatable coupler, a motor assembly, and a rocker brush head. Both the rocker brush head and motor assembly can be suspended from the coupler, freely dangling therefrom under the force of gravity, in an unbiased manner. The rocker brush head can pivot relative to the rocker arm through a swing angle between 10 and 45 degrees relative to vertical. The rotatable coupler and rocker brush head can be disposed at a pivoting angle between 10 and 45 degrees relative to a conveyor direction which a vehicle follows. When the rocker brush head encounters an opposing force above a movement threshold from the vehicle, the rocker brush head and the motor assembly can swing outward to the swing angle and at the pivoting angle so the vehicle is not damaged.
Data exchange between a mobile terminal and a control module of a car wash for feedback of evaluation signals
A system for modifying process data of a car wash based on captured evaluations of vehicle washes performed on the car wash, comprising: a set of mobile terminals, each adapted to perform an algorithmic evaluation process; and a control module, implemented on the car wash, for controlling and/or regulating the car wash based on the detected feedback signals encoding evaluations of vehicle washes performed on the car wash, and in data communication with the mobile terminals via the control interface.
Wrap-around vehicle wash component
A vehicle treatment system for a vehicle wash system includes a frame portion in communication with a brush assembly for treating front and rear vehicle surfaces. The brush assembly is rotated about an axis of rotation such that its associated wash media elements rotate therewith. The brush assembly includes a support carrier that is moveable with respect to the frame portion. The brush assembly includes a biasing mechanism that switches the brush assembly axis of rotation from a vertical orientation to a non-vertical orientation. A control system communicates with the support carrier to move the brush assembly along the front surface of the vehicle in a substantially vertical position and along the rear surface of the vehicle in a non-vertical position.
LIGHTED VEHICLE WASH COMPONENT
A vehicle wash component includes a rotatable hub portion having an outer surface and an axis of rotation. The component includes a plurality of grooves formed in the outer surface of the rotatable hub with the plurality of grooves being spaced about the perimeter of the outer surface of the hub portion. Each of the plurality of grooves includes one or more media elements disposed therein. The outer surface of the rotatable hub includes a plurality of channels formed therein. The plurality of channels are spaced apart from the plurality of grooves such that each of the plurality of channels is visible when the plurality of media elements are disposed in the plurality of grooves. An illumination source disposed in each of the plurality of channels such that the illumination source in each of the plurality of channels can be seen between the plurality of media elements as the rotatable hub portion operates.
Vehicle wash system
A vehicle wash system includes a track system positioned above a wash area and a movable body coupled to the track system. The movable body is movable along at least two axes and includes a gripping mechanism to selectively hold and release one or more wash tools.
Portable cleaning device
A portable car-cleaning device, which comprises a cleaning brush and at least one water storage chamber with a water inlet, the at least one chamber being provided with at least one washing dewatering device that includes two oppositely disposed rollers, the cleaning brush being interposed between the two rollers for washing and dewatering.
