VEHICLE BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD
20220063574 · 2022-03-03 ·

A brake control system includes one or more processors communicatively connected to at least one sensor configured to output at least one property measurement of air in a brake pipe of a vehicle braking assembly. The one or more processors are configured to determine, based on the at least one property measurement, a pressure reduction lower limit (PRLL) in the brake pipe. The one or more processors are further configured to control movement of a vehicle system that includes the brake pipe to enforce the PRLL by preventing a pressure reduction in the brake pipe that is less than the PRLL while one or more air reservoirs of the vehicle braking assembly are at a reduced charge state.

Dual-Control Electro-Pneumatic Foot Brake System and Method

A dual-control electro-pneumatic foot brake system and method are provided for use with a vehicle having multiple foot brake modules that communicate electronic signals to an electronic brake controller. As a backup feature in case there is a problem with the electron braking system, one of the foot brake modules provides pneumatic pressure to the other foot brake module, which supplies the provided pneumatic pressure to various components of the vehicle's braking system. Other alternatives are provided.

Pneumatic booster and brake system

A pneumatic booster (40) disposed between a brake pedal (5) and a master cylinder (7) includes a cylindrical member (60) provided on an outer circumferential side of an output rod (58). A seal member (62) seals between an outer circumferential side of the cylindrical member and a cylindrical portion of a front shell, and an O-ring seals between the cylindrical member and the output rod. The cylindrical member causes a differential pressure between a negative pressure chamber (A) and an atmosphere chamber (C) to be applied to a valve body (46). One axial side of the cylindrical member is configured to cause an atmosphere pressure to be applied to the valve body by abutting against a cylindrical protruding portion of the valve body, thereby pushing the valve body with the aid of the differential pressure in the direction as a biasing direction of a return spring.
