System for Determining Road Slipperiness in Bad Weather Conditions
Systems and methods are disclosed for estimating slipperiness of a road surface. This estimate may be obtained using an image sensor mounted on a vehicle. The estimated road slipperiness may be utilized when calculating a risk index for the road, or for an area including the road. If a predetermined threshold for slipperiness is exceeded, corrective actions may be taken. For instance, warnings may be generated to human drivers that are in control of driving vehicle, and autonomous vehicles may automatically adjust vehicle speed based upon road slipperiness detected.
Determination of a Possible Deceleration Variable
A method and device for determining a possible deceleration variable of a brake system of a vehicle, wherein the brake system has at least one brake, includes providing a possible control variable value that corresponds to an actual control variable value that can be set by the brake system, wherein the at least one brake is designed to generate a deceleration variable in response to a control variable of said actual control variable value; providing a brake system model that is designed to determine a deceleration variable of the at least one brake from an input control variable value; inputting the possible control variable value into the brake system model; and determining a possible deceleration variable of the at least one brake that corresponds to the possible control variable value by way of the brake system model.

WEIGHT PROFILE DETERMINATION SYSTEM
A weight profile determination system may be provided that includes a sensor and a controller. The sensor may be disposed along a route and configured to generate a plurality of force measurements of a vehicle system moving on the route relative to the sensor. The force measurements may be obtained at different times and correspond to different locations along a length of the vehicle system. The controller may determine a weight profile for the vehicle system based on the force measurements generated by the sensor. The weight profile can represent a distribution of weight along the length of the vehicle system. The controller may communicate the weight profile to one or more of the vehicle system or an offboard device for controlling movement of the vehicle system based on the weight profile.
Method for controlling an electromechanical braking system and electromechanical braking system
A method for operating an electromechanical braking system for a transportation vehicle having a brake pedal, a brake master cylinder, and an electromechanical brake booster. The electromechanical brake booster includes an actuator motor for increasing or decreasing the pedal force on the brake master cylinder to boost or reduce the braking power accordingly. A change in the boosting force of the electromechanical brake booster is limited to avoid uncontrolled changes of the brake boosting.

METHODS, APPARATUSES, SYSTEMS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR ESTIMATING ROAD CONDITION INFORMATION
Methods, apparatuses, systems and computer program products for estimating individualized road condition information for a specific vehicle are disclosed. Generic road condition information is received, which is indicative of at least one condition of a road segment. Further, individualization information is received, which is representative of an estimating method to be performed on the generic road condition information to obtain individualized road condition information for the specific vehicle. Individualized road condition information are estimated for the vehicle, wherein the estimating method is applied to the received generic road condition information to obtain individualized road condition information.
Brake device and brake control system
A brake device of the present invention includes: a wheel brake unit for braking a wheel; an electric motor for driving the wheel brake unit; a speed reducer for decelerating rotation of the electric motor; a rotation-linear motion converter for converting a rotational output of the speed reducer into a linear motion; and a braking force transmission member for transmitting the linear motion produced by the rotation-linear motion converter to the wheel brake unit.
Braking control device
A braking control device of a vehicle in which a braking force generator is connected to a differential mechanism to which a plurality of wheels is connected, and a friction brake is provided for each of the wheels includes a controller configured to control braking forces of the braking force generator and the friction brake. The controller is configured to: detect the wheel having a tendency of locking in which a slip ratio is larger than a predetermined determination value in a state where the braking force is transmitted to each of the wheels from the braking force generator via the differential mechanism; and reduce the tendency of locking by changing the braking force of the friction brake that is provided for the other wheel connected to the differential mechanism.
