An adjustable pressure simulator device for vehicle braking systems of the brake-by-wire type may have an absorber body enclosing a first cylinder and a second cylinder fluidically communicating with each other and at least partially filled with a fluid. The first cylinder houses a first piston subject to the thrust action of the fluid and biased by a first elastic device which opposes the thrust action applied by the fluid. The second cylinder houses a second piston subject to the thrust action of the fluid and biased by a second elastic device which opposes the thrust action applied by the fluid. The first and the second elastic devices have different rigidities so as to induce the displacement of the second piston only after having reached a predetermined stroke of the first piston, under the thrust action of said fluid.

The damping unit is mechanically coupled to the brake pedal to generate a resistance when the brake pedal is actuated. The damping unit comprises a housing and a piston, which is mounted movably in the housing and divides an internal space of the housing into a pressure chamber and a vacuum chamber. The pressure chamber and the vacuum chamber are connected to one another in terms of flow. The piston has on its running surface an encircling annular space in which a ring seal is accommodated in an axially movable manner. The ring seal is located at least in a flow path between the pressure chamber and the vacuum chamber and forms a restrictor in the at least one flow path, which restrictor frees different flow cross sections in the at least one flow path depending on the axial direction of movement, and damps the movement of the piston with differing degrees of strength depending on a direction of movement of the piston.

A brake pedal module for a “brake-by-wire” brake system of a vehicle is disclosed. The brake pedal module has a carrier component for securing the brake pedal module on the vehicle, a brake pedal, which is mounted pivotably on the carrier component, and a damping unit, which is mechanically coupled at one end to the brake pedal and at the other end to the carrier component in order to produce a resistance when the brake pedal is actuated. The brake pedal module is a pre-assembled structural unit which is self-contained in terms of forces.

PEDAL SENSOR

A pedal sensor is provided with a carrier that can be mounted to a motor vehicle. A housing is formed at the carrier, and a pedal arm is mounted on the carrier so as to be pivotable. A mechanism to transmit movements of the pedal arm relative to the carrier is arranged in the housing, and a sensor for measuring the movements is provided. A damping element is fixed to the carrier in a groove in such a way that any contact between the pedal arm and the carrier is dampened. The damping element is securely held on the carrier. This is achieved by the damping element being secured on both sides against slipping out of the groove.
