Method of controlling posture of vehicle

A method of controlling posture of a vehicle is provided to determine a minute tendency of understeer or oversteer of the vehicle and to control the posture of the vehicle when recognizing the minute tendency of the understeer or oversteer while driving the vehicle straight. The includes determining whether torque is applied to drive wheels while driving the vehicle and acquiring equivalent inertia information of a drive system in real time based on drive system operation information in response to determining that the torque is being applied to the drive wheels. The understeer or oversteer of the vehicle is determined from the equivalent inertia information obtained in real-time.

FRICTION ESTIMATION FOR STEERING MANEUVERS FOR STATIONARY OR SLOW-ROLLING AUTOMOBILES
20220169256 · 2022-06-02 ·

A device for estimating a friction coefficient between a road surface and an automotive tire through determination of a steering torque during a steering maneuver of a slow-rolling or stationary vehicle includes a computer configured for constructing a brush model for a description of the steering torque across a contact patch between the tire and road surface. The steering torque is a torque acting on a steering axis required to overcome resistance to tire twisting on the road surface at a wheel velocity and a steering rate. The steering torque depends on a tire brush vertical load distribution and relative motion of tire brushes and the road surface. The device further includes sensors for measuring the wheel velocity and the steering rate and mechanism for measurements or estimation of the steering torque. The friction coefficient is estimated based on the measurements or estimation of the steering torque and the brush model.

Travel evaluation method and pseudo-emotion generation method

Provided is a travel evaluation method of making an evaluation related to travel of a vehicle capable of traveling in a leaning position, the method including: obtaining a tire force which is an external force exerted on a wheel of the vehicle from a ground surface; and deriving an evaluation index related to travel of the vehicle. The evaluation index includes a positive evaluation index as a rating of a positive evaluation related to travel of the vehicle. In deriving the evaluation index, the positive evaluation index is set higher as the tire force increases, and the evaluation index is corrected based on an influential parameter other than the tire force.

A method for iteratively determining the radius of a wheel of a number of wheels can be utilized for a motor vehicle having a driving direction sensor unit for detecting straight line travel, with each wheel being assigned an incremental sensor unit for detecting increments embodying wheel rotational movements. The method may involve checking whether the motor vehicle is driving based on the incremental sensor units, checking whether the motor vehicle is driving in a straight line based on the driving direction sensor unit, checking whether each wheel is slide-free and slip-free based on the incremental sensor units, determining the distance driven by each wheel based on the sensor value of the respective incremental sensor unit and the radius to be iteratively determined of the wheel of a previous iteration, determining the distance driven by the motor vehicle based on the distance driven by each wheel, determining the radius to be iteratively determined of the wheel based on the distance traveled by the motor vehicle and the sensor value of the respective incremental sensor unit, verifying that a validation condition is met and then repeating the aforementioned steps.

Method for reducing torsional shock of driving system of electric vehicle

A method for reducing torsional shock of a driving system of an electric vehicle is provided. In the method, torsional torque of a part of the driving system is calculated by applying motor torque to a motor under the condition that a parking gear is engaged and monitoring a motor speed. Reverse torsional torque having the same magnitude as the calculated torsional torque is applied to the part of the driving system when release of the parking gear is requested, and then the parking gear is released to reduce shock caused by torsion of the part of the driving system when the parking gear is released.
