Systems and methods for testing collision avoidance systems
11577741 · 2023-02-14 · ·

A vehicle may include a primary system for generating data to control the vehicle and a secondary system that validates the data and/or other data to avoid collisions. For example, the primary system may localize the vehicle, detect an object around the vehicle, predict an object trajectory, and generate a trajectory for the vehicle. The secondary system may localize the vehicle, detect an object around the vehicle, predict an object trajectory, and determine a likelihood of a collision of the vehicle with the object. A simulation system may generate simulation scenarios that test aspects of the primary system and the secondary system. Simulation scenarios may include simulated vehicle control data that causes the primary system to generate a driving trajectory and simulated object data that causes the secondary system to determine a collision.

InCycle planner checkout for autonomous vehicles

Process for clearing an autonomous machine including first evaluating operation at a high curvature offline location. Following acceptable operation, the machine is placed into service and evaluated at a worksite. Following acceptable worksite operation, online operating speed of the machine is increased incrementally, and performance reevaluated. Following acceptable performance characteristics, online operating speed of the machine continues to be increased and revaluated until the machine reaches maximum designated operating speed, or is evaluated as unacceptable, in which case the machine continues to operate at the last acceptable online operating speed and identifies the unacceptable performance characteristic for further evaluation.

Interface for harmonizing performance of different autonomous vehicles in a fleet

Among other things, we describe techniques for an interface board for harmonizing performance of different autonomous vehicles in a fleet. In an embodiment, the interface system includes a printed circuit board installed in a host vehicle that includes an interface controller and interface circuitry coupled to the interface controller. The interface circuitry includes a plurality of relays configured by the interface controller to route/pass sensor signals received from actuators of the host vehicle to the interface controller, and route/pass control signals from the interface controller to actuator controllers of the host vehicle that control the actuators in accordance with an operating mode. Signal conditioning circuitry in the interface controller conditions the sensor signals and control signals to ensure that the electrical characteristics of the sensor signals are compatible with the interface controller, and that the electrical characteristics of the control signals are compatible with the actuator controllers.

REMOTE VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS FILTERING
20220383666 · 2022-12-01 · ·

A system for on board diagnostic (OBD) vehicle communications that includes a vehicle communications device having a pin-connector adapted for connecting to a vehicle's OBD system and a network interface configured to perform network communications with a remote communications device connected with a vehicle scan and/or programming tool using a compatible pin-connector. The remote communications device includes a network interface configured to perform network communications with the vehicle communications device. The vehicle communications device is programmed and configured to receive communications from a vehicle's OBD system through its pin-connector and selectively filter communications based on message type received from OBD system. The selectively filtered communications are forwarded through a network to the remote communications device using the network interfaces.

VEHICLE INSPECTION SYSTEM

An inspection system includes sensors that are selectively coupled to a vehicle during an inspection and/or maintenance event for the vehicle and a controller that is operable to cause a control system of the vehicle to initiate a first operation and a different, second operation. The controller determines whether first sensor information indicative of a state of the vehicle during the first operation exists. The controller sends a command signal to the control system to direct the control system to change vehicle operations from the first operation to the second operation responsive to determining that the first sensor information is lacking. The controller obtains second sensor information from the sensors based on the second operation and determines a condition of the vehicle based on the first and/or second sensor information.

Monitoring a component of a control system for a means of transport
11613266 · 2023-03-28 · ·

A method to a computer program containing instructions and to a module for monitoring a component of a control system for a transport. In a first step, a function call is sent to the component to execute a function used by the component using defined input data. Then a response from the component to the function call is received. The response is subsequently compared with an expected response. Finally, an action is performed in response to a result of the comparison.

Device for shared vehicle maintenance and recovery

System, apparatus, device and methods relating to a telematic vehicle sharing platform ecosystem and a telematic vehicle share I/O expander to automate sharing and management of a vehicle that is shared by more than one operator.

Vehicular cooperative perception for identifying a connected vehicle to aid a pedestrian
11485377 · 2022-11-01 ·

The disclosure includes embodiments for vehicular cooperative perception for identifying a subset of connected vehicles from a plurality to aid a pedestrian. In some embodiments, a method includes analyzing pedestrian data to determine a scenario depicted by the pedestrian data and a subset of the connected vehicles from the plurality that have a clearest line of the pedestrian. The method includes identifying a group of conflicted vehicles from the subset whose driving paths conflict with a walking path of the pedestrian. The method includes determining, based on the scenario, digital twin data describing a digital twin simulation that corresponds to the scenario. The method includes determining, based on the digital twin data and the pedestrian data, a group of modified driving paths for the group of conflicted vehicles. The method includes causing the group of conflicted vehicles to travel in accordance with the group of modified driving paths.

System and method for system for acquiring data

A method of acquiring data, a computer program product for implementing the method, a system for acquiring data, and a vehicle including the system. The method includes determining one or more data types and virtual channels required for one or more applications. The method also includes allocating a plurality of circular buffers in memory according to the determined data type(s) and virtual channel(s). One or more of the circular buffers are allocated to safety data lines. The remaining circular buffers are allocated to functional data lines. The method further includes storing at least one functional data line in a circular buffer allocated to functional data lines according to a data type and virtual channel of the functional data line. The method also includes storing at least one safety data line in a circular buffer allocated to safety data lines.
