Hazard prediction for tracked vehicles
11807251 · 2023-11-07 · ·

An exemplary method generally involves determining a hazard parameter for a tracked vehicle including a ground interface assembly. The ground interface assembly generally includes a track and a drive wheel operable to move the track to thereby propel the tracked vehicle. A load sensor senses a load carried by the tracked vehicle, and a speed sensor senses a vehicle speed of the tracked vehicle. A control system in communication with the load sensor, the speed sensor, and a temperature sensor determines the hazard parameter based upon the load, the vehicle speed, and an ambient temperature in a vicinity of the tracked vehicle. The control system compares the hazard parameter to a threshold parameter, and performs an action based upon the comparison.

Systems and methods of stopping propulsion of an electric vehicle in an emergency situation are provided. One method includes receiving a command to stop propulsion of the electric vehicle while the electric vehicle is in motion, and in response to the command, attempting to regulate an operation of an electric motor of the electric vehicle toward a no-load operating state of the electric motor while the electric vehicle is in motion. When the operation of the electric motor is outside a prescribed range of the no-load operating state after attempting to regulate the operation of the electric motor toward the no-load operating state, the method includes causing braking of the electric motor.

SWIVELING WORKING MACHINE

A swiveling working machine includes a swivel base; a working device provided on a front side of the swivel base; a battery unit; an electric motor that is driven by electric power output by the battery unit; and a hydraulic pump that delivers a hydraulic fluid by driving of the electric motor. The battery unit is disposed at a rear portion of the swivel base. The electric motor and the hydraulic pump are disposed sideward of the battery unit side by side in a front-rear direction.

The track assembly includes an electric motor coupled to the chassis, a first drive wheel coupled to the electric motor and pivotally coupled to the chassis, a second drive wheel coupled to the engine and pivotally coupled to the chassis, and a track engaging the first drive wheel and the second drive wheel. The engine is configured to provide mechanical energy to the second drive wheel to drive the track and propel the vehicle. The electric motor is configured to receive electrical energy from the power source and provide mechanical energy to the first drive wheel to drive the track and propel the vehicle.

ENDLESS TRACK CONVEYANCE MACHINES HAVING A TORQUE ASSIST SYSTEM FOR ENHANCING PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY TEMPERAURE ASSIST
20220250715 · 2022-08-11 ·

Conveyance vehicles such as snow bikes and snowmobiles having an endless track system driven by a combustion engine are enhanced in performance with a torque assist system. The torque assist system includes an electric motor that is coupled to drive the track in parallel with the original internal combustion engine through either its own track drive, or through the drive system of the engine. The motor can be a spindle drive motor or hub motor. Torque assist is generated through a torque assist throttle input coupled to a motor controller. A battery temperature assist system diverts heated cooling fluid from the engine cooling system to heat the battery through its own heat exchanger. The controller is coupled to a processing device such as a smart phone that executes apps configured to provide parametric data to the controller and to receive parametric data from the controller through a user interface.

Vehicle control system with track temperature sensing

A work vehicle may include a load sensor, an engine, a drive train driven by the engine and a track system including at least one track. The track system is connected to the drive train. The work vehicle may further comprise a temperature sensor configured to sense a temperature and a vehicle control system configured to receive the sensed temperature and a vehicle load from the load sensor. The vehicle control system is configured to output a work speed vehicle alert based upon a combination of the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor and the vehicle load sensed by the load sensor.
