SCENARIO-BASED MOTION PLANNING AND CONTROL FOR COASTING
Methods, systems, and non-transitory computer-readable media estimate coasting behavior of a vehicle; identify a scenario associated with coasting in an environment of the vehicle; and based in part on the coasting behavior, generate a trajectory associated with coasting for the vehicle to move in the scenario.

Method and control device for operating a motor vehicle
A method for operating a motor vehicle, the motor vehicle including a prime mover (1), a transmission (2), and a driven end (3), wherein the transmission (2) is an automatic or automated transmission and is connected between the prime mover (1) and the driven end (3). The method includes activating a sailing mode of the motor vehicle depending on at least one operating condition of the motor vehicle; performing a gear select interlock in the transmission (2), while maintaining the sailing mode, when the sailing mode is active; and deactivating the sailing mode is subsequently depending on at least one operating condition of the motor vehicle. The gear select interlock is implemented in the transmission (2) depending on a rotational speed of the prime mover (1) and depending on synchronous speeds of the gears of the transmission (2).
SHIFT CONTROL DEVICE AND SHIFT CONTROL METHOD FOR VEHICLE
A shift control device for a vehicle includes: an engine; a shift mechanism disposed between the engine and driving wheels; a shift control section configured to control a transmission gear ratio of the shift mechanism; and a fuel cut control section configured to stop a fuel supply to the engine, at least when an accelerator pedal is in a release state, and when an engine speed is equal to or greater than a predetermined rotation speed, the shift control section being configured to perform a minimum rotation speed restriction control to control the transmission gear ratio of the shift mechanism so that the minimum rotation speed of the engine is equal to or greater than the predetermined rotation speed regardless of a vehicle front condition and an accelerator operation condition.
Apparatus and method for vehicle economy improvement
A method and apparatus for evaluating the driving of a vehicle performing a journey on a road network is disclosed. The method comprises determining a fuel usage rate and an engine speed of a vehicle, and determining when the vehicle is coasting based upon at least one of the fuel usage rate and the engine speed of the vehicle. An acceleration of the vehicle, when the vehicle is determined to be coasting, is compared with a predetermined reference acceleration, and an application of braking during the coasting is determined based on the result of the comparison. A method and apparatus is also disclosed for determining a score indicative of the relative amount of time for which the vehicle is coasting without braking during a journey.
VEHICLE MOVING APPARATUS
A vehicle moving apparatus executes an autonomous acceleration/deceleration control including a coasting control and an acceleration control. The apparatus continues executing the coasting control until a predetermined time elapses even when a distance between an own vehicle and a preceding vehicle increases and reaches an upper limit value of a predetermined distance range when a moving speed of the own vehicle becomes equal to or greater than a predetermined speed, the moving speed of the own vehicle is greater than a moving speed of the preceding vehicle, and a difference between the moving speed of the own vehicle and the moving speed of the preceding vehicle is equal to or greater than a predetermined speed difference while the coasting control is executed.
Control device that stops fuel injection to an engine during coasting
Introduction of a low fuel consumption technique such as downsizing turbos and idling stop decreases an intake pipe negative pressure (pump loss) of an internal combustion engine, and results in difficulty in emitting (evaporative fuel purge) a volatile fuel (volatile fuel) in a fuel tank by the negative pressure of the intake pipe of the internal combustion engine. A control device includes: a purge control unit which controls a purge valve which emits a volatile fuel of a fuel tank or a canister to an intake pipe of an internal combustion engine; and a power transmission control unit which controls a power transmission mechanism between the internal combustion engine and a drive wheel, and, in a state where the power transmission control unit disconnects a clutch, and the vehicle is coasting, the purge control unit opens the evaporative fuel valve and purges an evaporative fuel to the intake pipe.
Control device for internal combustion engine
During a fuel cut-off control, if a vehicle deceleration rate becomes greater than a rapid deceleration determination value, which is calculated based on a rotational resistance of internal combustion engine 1, a vehicle is determined to be in a state of rapid deceleration. The rapid deceleration determination value is set to decrease as the rotational resistance of internal combustion engine 1 increases. The rotational resistance thereof increases as the vehicle speed decreases, and increases as a transmission gear ratio increases. Thereby, during decelerating on a high vehicle speed side, an erroneous determination of rapid deceleration due to a longitudinal vibration of the vehicle that occurs when the fuel cut-off control starts can be prevented, and during decelerating on a low vehicle speed side, a determination of rapid deceleration can be implemented to terminate the fuel cut-off control and thereby prevent the internal combustion engine 1 from being stopped.
Apparatus and method for providing optimal gear advice
A method and apparatus for providing an indication to a driver of a geared vehicle that the vehicle is not in an optimal gear is disclosed. The method comprises determining a current gear of the vehicle and determining a current speed of a drive unit of the vehicle. An indication is then provided to the driver of the vehicle that the vehicle is not in an optimal gear when: (i) the determined current speed of the drive unit is greater than a predetermined threshold; and (ii) the determined current gear of the vehicle is less than a maximum gear of the vehicle. A method and apparatus is also disclosed for determining a score indicative of the amount of time during a journey on a road network that a geared vehicle is driven in an optimal gear.
Apparatus and method for vehicle economy improvement
A method and apparatus is disclosed for evaluating the driving of a vehicle performing a journey on a road network, comprising determining at least one constant speed zone of the road network, a constant speed zone being a portion of the road network at which the vehicle can travel at a constant speed, said determination being based upon expected speeds of travel along the road network determined from positional data relating to the movements of a plurality of vehicles over time along the road network. A speed of the vehicle traversing the road network is determined at a plurality of times during the journey, and a value indicative of a consistency of the speed of the vehicle within the at least one constant speed zone is further determined.
