In this process, a deviation (ΔP) between a position (P.sub.sig) of the object (6, 6a . . . 6d), which is calculated with the aid of rotation signals from the drives (M) for conveyor elements (2, 2.sub.M, 2.sub.L) of the conveying device (1a . . . 1c), and a position (P.sub.1 . . . P.sub.5) of a detection area (E.sub.1,E.sub.2) of a sensor (L.sub.1 . . . L.sub.5) fixedly installed on the conveying device (6, 6a . . . 6d) is determined and used for calculating a corrected position (P.sub.korr) of the object (6, 6a . . . 6d) during a movement of the object (6, 6a . . . 6d) away from this detection area (E.sub.1,E.sub.2). Furthermore, a conveying device (1a . . . 1c) for performing the presented method is indicated.
Drive System
An object of this invention is to efficiently warm up a catalyst and keep its temperature. Provided is a drive system, including: an internal combustion engine; a catalytic unit configured to purify an exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine; a motor used for at least one of drive or regeneration; and a flow path formed so as to allow an oil-based medium for lubricating the motor to flow in the vicinity of the catalytic unit. The oil-based medium is heated in the motor and exchanges heat in the catalytic unit to heat the catalytic unit.
HYBRID VEHICLE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A hybrid vehicle includes an engine which generates power by combustion of fuel; a drive motor which generates power, and is selectively operated as a generator to generate electrical energy; a battery which is connected to the drive motor and supplies electrical energy to the drive motor and charges the electrical energy generated in the drive motor; a battery management system which measures a State of charge (SOC) value of the battery; and a controller which is configured to determine a final target torque of the engine in a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) mode based on an SOC section in which the SOC value of the battery measured in the battery management system belongs.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INCREASING THE SAFETY OF VOICE CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN DRIVERS AND REMOTE PARTIES
A system for increasing the safety of voice conversations between drivers and remote parties is shown. The system includes an in-vehicle subsystem and a remote subsystem. The system includes a plurality of sensors which are configured to generate monitoring data. The system includes a computing device, which may be distributed between the subsystems and is configured to calculate a risk level as a function of the monitoring data. The computing device may engage an automatic safety response as a function of the risk level, that may include suspension or termination of on-going conversations among the parties, together with notification about the status of the communication channel. The safety response may be communicated to the driver by generating an alert. The in-vehicle and the remote subsystems communicate using a wireless connection and collaborate in engaging the automatic safety response and communicating any alerts to the driver and remote party using notifications.
ASSISTANCE BY TOWED VEHICLE
A computer includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to receive data indicating a lane change by a first vehicle that is towing a second vehicle, the data including data indicating a direction that first wheels of the first vehicle are turning while the first vehicle is performing the lane change; and during the lane change, instruct a steering system of the second vehicle to turn second wheels of the second vehicle in a same direction as the first wheels.

A method for controlling a start of a mild hybrid vehicle that includes an engine, a starter-generator starting the engine or generating electricity by an output of the engine, a starter starting the engine, and a battery supplying electric power to the starter-generator may include: determining, by a controller configured for controlling an operation of the vehicle, whether a start of the vehicle is requested; checking, by the controller, current limit data of the battery when the start of the vehicle is requested; checking, by the controller, start torque current data of the starter-generator according to state data of the vehicle; comparing, by the controller, the current limit data with the start torque current data; and starting, by the controller, the engine using the starter-generator or the starter according to a result of the comparing, by the controller, the current limit data with the start torque current data.

Method and device for optimized autonomous driving, wherein a trajectory for the actuation of the vehicle is determined. A profile of the trajectory is defined by a bending line of a bending band. The bending line is preferably determined by the finite element method, in particular according to the principle of virtual shifting, and achieves an optimization goal and satisfies a boundary condition. The boundary condition is defined in accordance with a profile of a roadway for the vehicle. The optimization goal is defined by a desired driving property of the vehicle.

An engine unit includes: an engine that is able to independently inject fuel into cylinders; a cleaning device that cleans exhaust gas from the engine; and a control device that performs low-temperature starting control for increasing an amount of injected fuel when the engine is started at a low temperature. The control device performs temperature increase control for performing fuel cutoff for some cylinders of the engine and increasing an amount of fuel injected into other cylinders after an increase in an amount of fuel in the low-temperature starting control has reached a first predetermined amount when an increase in temperature of the cleaning device is requested while the low-temperature starting control is being performed.
