Autonomous Drive Function Which Takes Driver Interventions into Consideration for a Motor Vehicle
A processor unit (3) is configured to execute an autonomous driving function of the motor vehicle (1) during a first instance such that the motor vehicle (1) travels autonomously based at least in part on the execution of the autonomous driving function. The processor unit (3) is further configured to store a driver intervention, the driver intervention being performed by a driver of the motor vehicle (1) during the first instance while the motor vehicle (1) travels autonomously based on the execution of the autonomous driving function. Additionally, the processor unit (3) is configured to execute the autonomous driving function during a second instance, subsequent to the first instance, based at least in part on the stored driver intervention such that the motor vehicle (1) travels autonomously based at least in part on the execution of the autonomous driving function according to the stored driver intervention.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus is mounted in a delivery automatic driving vehicle with a monitoring device for remote monitoring. The information processing apparatus includes a controller that suppresses a monitoring function of the monitoring device when determining that a delivery person does not exist inside the automatic driving vehicle in a stopped state of the automatic driving vehicle.
Control device for vehicle and occupant transportation system
A control device for a vehicle includes an upper limit value setting unit configured to set an upper limit value of an acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle, and a vehicle controller configured to control the vehicle such that the acceleration or deceleration does not exceed the upper limit value. The upper limit value setting unit is configured to change the upper limit value according to at least one predetermined condition.
Information providing device, information providing method, and storage medium
An information providing device includes an acquirer configured to acquire one or more pieces of orientation information indicating orientations of one or more users, a determiner configured to determine priority item information, which is item information to be preferentially provided, based on reference information in which a specific point and item information for each item of the specific point are associated with each other, and the one or more pieces of orientation information acquired by the acquirer, and a provider configured to allow an information output device associated with at least a part of the one or more users to output the priority item information.
Vehicle and passenger transportation system
A vehicle is configured to transport a passenger through autonomous travel. The vehicle includes an in-vehicle camera configured to image the passenger to generate an image, a camera controller configured to control the in-vehicle camera, and a passenger information detection unit configured to detect information about the passenger. The passenger information detection unit measures the number of passengers and the camera controller stops an operation of the in-vehicle camera in a case where the number of passengers is one.
OPERATION MANAGEMENT METHOD, OPERATION MANAGEMENT APPARATUS, AND OPERATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
An operation management method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is a method, performed by an operation management apparatus, for managing operation of a plurality of vehicles for passenger transportation. The operation management method includes selecting, upon detecting an occurrence of a predetermined event, one vehicle from among the plurality of vehicles each traveling a predetermined first route, determining a second route different from the first route, and switching a route traveled by the selected vehicle from the first route to the second route.
REDUCING PATHOGEN TRANSMISSION IN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE FLEET
An autonomous vehicle (AV) implements a health protocol that may reduce pathogen transmission between users of the AV. The AV is equipped with a thermal sensor that captures a body temperature of a user. The AV compares the user’s temperature to a threshold temperature, and if the user’s temperature exceeds the threshold temperature, the AV performs checks to ensure that the user’s planned trip follows current regulations or recommendations. For example, the AV confirms that the user is traveling between the user’s home and a healthcare facility. If the trip is permitted, the AV enables the user to enter the AV. The AV may include a disinfectant system for disinfecting the passenger compartment or surfaces after the user exits the AV.
Method and apparatus to improve interaction models and user experience for autonomous driving in transition regions
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for improving user experiences for autonomous driving. In context of a method, the method determines one or more autonomous transition region parameters for a respective autonomous transition region along a route. The method also, based on the one or more autonomous transition region parameters, determines whether an action is to be performed by a vehicle in accordance with user preference data associated with a user. The method also causes the vehicle to perform the action in accordance with a determination that the action is to be performed by the vehicle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE FUNCTIONS BASED ON EVALUATED DRIVING TEAM COMPOSITION
A system for controlling vehicle functions based on monitored driving performance includes one or more sensors that capture performance-based data characterizing driving-performance implicating behaviors of a driving team during one or more driving campaigns. The performance-based data is analyzed according to one or more performance indicators to determine a compatibility score for the driving team that characterizes how driving team composition affects driving performance. One or more vehicle functions can then be controlled one or more vehicle functions based on compatibility scores for various driving teams.
RADAR DETECTION OF UNSAFE SEATING CONDITIONS IN A VEHICLE
A system for controlling operation of a vehicle includes a millimeter-wave radar sensor, a processor, and a memory communicably coupled to the processor. The memory stores a sensor control module configured to control operation of the radar sensor to acquire data for determining and updating a number of occupants in the vehicle. Upon receiving a control command whose execution will result in movement of the vehicle, a pre-movement radar scan of the vehicle interior is performed. using information acquired by the pre-movement scan, the sensor control module determines if an excessive occupant condition exists in the vehicle interior. Responsive to a determination that an excessive occupant condition exists, the sensor control module may control an operation of the vehicle other than executing the control command.
