A vehicle control device includes a controller configured to control operation of a braking device and operation of a driving motor. The controller can switch between a normal mode of controlling acceleration/deceleration in accordance with a driver's acceleration/deceleration operation, and a cruise control mode of maintaining the vehicle speed at a target speed without being dependent on the acceleration/deceleration operation. The controller is configured to execute braking control, including braking by the braking device and regenerative braking by the driving motor, during the cruise control mode in accordance with a change in a vehicle traveling condition. The braking control includes causing the braking device to generate a braking force without using the regenerative braking and subsequently executing a braking-force switching process including increasing a braking force by the regenerative braking while reducing the braking force from the braking device, if a determination result indicates that the vehicle speed is stable.

PARKING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM

The invention relates to a parking assistance system for an ego vehicle (1), comprising a control device (2) for controlling a parking procedure, in which the ego vehicle (1) is guided to a target position within a parking space (10), the control device (2) can access sensors for environment detection and, on the basis of the sensor data, can determine a parking space (10) by identifying objects (10a, 11, 12, 13) surrounding the parking space (10), wherein the control device (2) is designed to specify a first minimum distance and a second minimum distance of the ego vehicle (1) from surrounding objects (10a, 11, 12, 13), the control device (2) is furthermore designed to specify, on the basis of the first minimum distance, a first parking region (14) and, on the basis of the second minimum distance, a second parking region (15), and the control device (2) determines the target position by specifying said position within the first and/or the second parking region (14, 15).

Systems and methods for operating a vehicle based on sensor data

A method performed by an electronic device is described. The method includes obtaining sensor data corresponding to multiple occupants from an interior of a vehicle. The method also includes obtaining, by a processor, at least one occupant status for at least one of the occupants based on a first portion of the sensor data. The method further includes identifying, by the processor, at least one vehicle operation in response to the at least one occupant status. The method additionally includes determining, by the processor, based at least on a second portion of the sensor data, whether to perform the at least one vehicle operation. The method also includes performing the at least one vehicle operation in a case that it is determined to perform the at least one vehicle operation.

System for an automated vehicle

A system for an automated vehicle includes a user input interface and an electronic controller. The electronic controller is programmed with instructions to operate at least one aspect of the automated vehicle, is configured to process information input through the user input interface, the information including data directed to predetermined parameters related to the at least one aspect of the automated vehicle at a predetermined location, and update the instructions based on the information to alter the least one aspect of the automated vehicle.

VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM

A control device executes caster angle change control for controlling a driving force applying device or each of the driving force applying device and a braking force applying device to reduce a caster angle of a steered tire-wheel assembly when a steering request is received in a stopped state or in a creeping state without exceeding a predetermined vehicle speed at a point starting from the stopped state. In the caster angle change control, the control device applies, to one tire-wheel assembly out of a front tire-wheel assembly and a rear tire-wheel assembly, a driving force in a direction toward the other tire-wheel assembly and applies, to the other tire-wheel assembly, a braking force or a driving force in a direction toward the one tire-wheel assembly to achieve the stopped state or the creeping state in response to a request for acceleration or deceleration.

An approach is provided for using a passenger-based driving profile. The approach involves detecting an identity of a user of a vehicle. The approach also involves retrieving a passenger profile of the user based on the identity. The passenger profile is generated based on sensor data indicating a reaction of the user to at least one vehicle driving behavior previously experienced by the user as a vehicle passenger. The approach further involves configuring the vehicle based on the passenger profile.
