Systems and methods for generating images from an autonomous vehicle ride. Systems and methods are provided for determining whether a vehicle route passes a photogenic location and, if so, capturing an image at the photogenic location. The user can be provided with an option to take a detour to a nearby photogenic location. Additionally, a route can be selected based on one or more photogenic locations along the route. Captured images are provided to the user.

A vehicle control device including: a remote operation signal reception section configured to be input with a remote operation signal based on an operation by an operator at a command center external to a vehicle; a control section configured to control the vehicle in a remote operation mode, based on the remote operation signal output from the command center, in a state in which remote operation of the vehicle from the command center side has been enabled; and a speech communication device configured to enable conversation between an occupant of the vehicle and an operator at the command center.

An outside information display control device limits operation of at least one of onboard devices including a wiper, an electronic mirror, and a defroster at the time of automated driving of a vehicle. An interest determining unit determines whether an occupant is interested in outside information. The limitation on operation of the onboard device is released when the interest determining unit determines that the occupant is interested in the outside information in a state in which the operation of the onboard device has been limited.

A method for using an autonomous vehicle includes receiving one or more user preferences for use of the autonomous vehicle. A destination is received for a trip using the autonomous vehicle. An arrival time is received for when the trip needs to be completed. A determination is made as to whether the user preferences includes a preference for physical activity for the trip. One or more routes are provided for the trip to the destination that permits the trip to be completed by the arrival time and that implements at least one of the user preferences. At least one of the routes comprises a hybrid route including one segment in which a physical activity selected by the user is suggested for traversing a distance of the one segment and another segment using the autonomous vehicle.

Techniques are disclosed to process event data acquired via components that may be integrated as part of the autonomous vehicle's operational system, such as cameras and GPS systems. The event data may then be processed to generate processed event data based upon an analysis of various conditions occurring during, prior to, or shortly after a user's trip in an autonomous vehicle. The processed event data may represent one or more portions of sharable digital content such as a pre-edited video clip, a montage, an image, a series of images, etc. The user may access and then share these portions of sharable content to various platforms, such as social media platforms.
