METHOD AND PROCESS FOR DEGRADATION MITIGATION IN AUTOMATED DRIVING
A vehicle and a system method of operating the vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a monitoring module and a mitigation module operating on a processor. The monitoring module is configured to measure a degradation in an operation parameter of the vehicle, the vehicle operating in a first state based on a first value of a set of adaptive parameters. The mitigation module is configured to determine a threat to the vehicle due to operating the vehicle in the first state with the degradation in the operation parameter and adjust the set of adaptive parameters from the first value to a second value that mitigates the threat to the vehicle, wherein the processor operates the vehicle in a second state based on the second value.
Vehicle safety system for autonomous vehicles
Devices, systems, and methods for a vehicular safety system in autonomous vehicles are described. An example method for safely controlling a vehicle includes selecting, based on a first control command from a first vehicle control unit, an operating mode of the vehicle, and transmitting, based on the selecting, the operating mode to an autonomous driving system, wherein the first control command is generated based on input from a first plurality of sensors, and wherein the operating mode corresponds to one of (a) a default operating mode, (b) a minimal risk condition mode of a first type that configures the vehicle to pull over to a nearest pre-designated safety location, (c) a minimal risk condition mode of a second type that configures the vehicle to immediately stop in a current lane, or (d) a minimal risk condition mode of a third type that configures the vehicle to come to a gentle stop.
Method for performing automatic valet parking
A method for performing automatic valet parking, which includes selecting a road scenario applicable to a roadway; notifying a driver to release manual control elements of a motor vehicle and to leave the motor vehicle; checking whether the control elements have been released and the driver has left the motor vehicle and, in this case, entering an EXPLORE mode in which the motor vehicle is slowly driven autonomously and searches for a free car space or a parking space using the vehicle's own environmental sensors, before the motor vehicle is placed in a parking position; and then to change from the EXPLORE mode to a PARKING mode in which the motor vehicle is parked in the car space or in the parking space from the parking position by means of the longitudinal and lateral controllers and using the environmental data previously obtained from the environmental sensors in the EXPLORE mode.
Autonomous vehicle system for detecting safety driving model compliance status of another vehicle, and planning accordingly
An Autonomous Vehicle (AV) system, including: a tracking subsystem configured to detect and track relative positioning of another vehicle that is behind or lateral to an AV configured to comply with a safety driving model, and to check a safety driving model compliance status of the other vehicle; and a risk reduction subsystem configured to plan, based on the safety driving model compliance status of the other vehicle, an AV action, wherein if the safety driving model compliance status of the other vehicle is unknown or is known to be non-compliant, the AV action is administration of a safety driving model compliance test to the other vehicle, or is a maneuver by the AV to reduce risk of collision with a leading vehicle positioned in front of the AV.
Vehicle interlock system
A vehicle interlock system includes a wheelchair fixing device configured to fix a wheelchair to a vehicle, a seatbelt device having a seatbelt configured such that, an occupant seated in the wheelchair wears the seatbelt, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to limit at least one of an upper limit traveling speed and an upper limit acceleration of the vehicle or output a warning signal, or to output a warning signal while limiting at least one of the upper limit traveling speed and the upper limit acceleration of the vehicle depending on at least one of the following conditions: whether the wheelchair is fixed to the vehicle with the wheelchair fixing device; whether the occupant is wearing the seatbelt; and so forth.
One-pedal control method and system for autonomous vehicle
A one-pedal control method and system for an autonomous vehicle, are capable of accelerating or decelerating a vehicle by use of a foldable brake pedal system when a foldable accelerator pedal system is broken down when a driver manually drives the vehicle or the mode is switched from an autonomous driving mode to a manual driving mode, and capable of implementing a fail-safe function by use of an integrated safety function of software.
Vehicle control system
A vehicle travel control device executes vehicle travel control such that a vehicle follows a target trajectory. An automated driving control device generates a first target trajectory that is the target trajectory for automated driving of the vehicle. The vehicle travel control device further determines whether or not an activation condition of travel assist control is satisfied. When the activation condition is satisfied, the vehicle travel control device generates a second target trajectory that is the target trajectory for the travel assist control. When the second target trajectory is generated during the automated driving, the vehicle travel control device determines whether or not a cancellation condition is satisfied. When the cancellation condition is satisfied, the vehicle travel control device cancels both the first target trajectory and the second target trajectory, and decelerates the vehicle.
When the second target trajectory is generated during the automated driving, or when the second target trajectory is generated during the automated driving and a priority condition for giving priority to the second target trajectory is satisfied, the vehicle travel control device executes the vehicle travel control by giving more weight to the second target trajectory than to the first target trajectory.
AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE, CONTROL SYSTEM FOR REMOTELY CONTROLLING THE SAME, AND METHOD THEREOF
An autonomous vehicle, a control system for remotely controlling the same, and a method thereof may include an autonomous driving control apparatus including a processor for determining whether remote control of the autonomous vehicle is required according to at least one of occurrence of failure of the vehicle during autonomous driving thereof, occurrence of an accident, a region where the autonomous driving is not possible, reliability of positioning data of the vehicle, a stopping time of the vehicle, or a response point of a hand signal, and for requesting the remote control to a control system when the remote control of the vehicle is required.
Vehicle position sensing system
A vehicle position sensing system includes: a position information acquiring section that acquires position information of a vehicle; a storage section that stores first region information, which expresses automatic driving regions where automatic driving of the vehicle is possible and remote driving regions where remote operation driving of the vehicle is possible, and second region information that expresses manual driving regions where only manual driving of the vehicle is permitted; a head up display that can be viewed by a driver of the vehicle; and a control section that, on the basis of the position information of the vehicle, the first region information and the second region information, causes the head up display to display relative positional relationships among the vehicle, the automatic driving regions, the remote driving regions and the manual driving regions.
