METHOD AND TRANSMISSION CONTROL APPARATUS FOR OPERATING A MULTIPLE-SPEED VEHICLE TRANSMISSION
Disclosed is a method for operating a multi-gear vehicle transmission having a plurality of shifting elements (A, B, C, D, E) for engaging gears of the vehicle transmission. In a neutral gear, in which some of the shifting elements (A, B) are already actuated, a transmission input (1) is decoupled from a transmission output (2) of the vehicle transmission. In a driving gear the transmission input (1) is coupled to the transmission output (2) of the vehicle transmission by closing the shifting elements (A, B, C, D, E) associated with the driving gear, in order to propel the vehicle. With the neutral gear engaged a transmission condition is determined, and if a transmission condition with elevated drag losses exists, then in addition to the shifting elements (A, B) actuated in the neutral gear a shifting element (D) associated with a reversing gear of the vehicle transmission is also closed.
Vehicle and method of controlling engine start for the same
Disclosed are a vehicle and an engine control method for more conveniently restarting an engine in the state in which a function of automatically turning off the engine is activated during braking for improving fuel efficiency. The engine control method includes turning off an engine through an idle stop and go (ISG) system during braking due to manipulation of a brake pedal, determining whether at least one preset starting condition is satisfied based on information on a forward environment, and turning on the engine irrespective of whether manipulation of the brake pedal is released when any one of the at least one starting condition is satisfied.
Gear engagement method for a hybrid vehicle
A gear engagement method for a hybrid vehicle includes detecting whether or not baulking occurs when a controller attempts to engage a target gear via a synchronizer. The gear engagement method also includes checking, by the controller, for a stationary state of the vehicle if the result of the detecting shows that there is baulking. The gear engagement method also includes engaging, by the controller via the synchronizer, a different gear that shares a same input shaft with the target gear if the result of the checking shows that the vehicle is in a stationary state. The gear engagement method also includes reattempting an engagement with the target gear after disengaging the different gear. The disengaging and the reattempting are performed by the controller via the synchronizer after the engaging.

Electrical power supply device and method of operating same
An electrical power supply device configured to interface with a start-stop controller within a vehicle includes a DC-DC power convertor receiving an input voltage and producing a first output voltage or a second output voltage that is less than the first output voltage and a device controller in communication with the DC-DC power convertor. The device controller has one or more processors and memory. The memory includes instructions which causes the device controller to command the DC-DC power convertor to output the first output voltage when the device controller receives a run signal from the start-stop controller or detects that the input voltage is above a voltage threshold or output the second output voltage when the device controller receives a stop signal from the start-stop controller or detects that the input voltage is below a voltage threshold. A method of operating the electrical power supply device is also presented.
Method for controlling neutral gear of automatic transmission
Disclosed is a method for controlling a neutral gear of an automatic transmission. The method includes: when a neutral gear control function of the automatic transmission is in an activated state, an automatic Transmission Control Unit (TCU) collects information on a pressure of a brake main cylinder, a state of a brake pedal, and whether an autohold function is in an activated state or not; and when the pressure of the brake main cylinder is smaller than a pressure threshold P.sub.3 of the neutral gear control function and the autohold function is in an inactivated state, or when the brake pedal is in an unstamped state and the autohold function is in the inactivated state, the automatic TCU controls the neutral gear control function to exit from the activated state.
VEHICLE STOP SUPPORT SYSTEM
Provided is a vehicle stop support system for supporting vehicle stop in an emergency condition. The vehicle stop support system detects a physical abnormality of a driver; sets a target time period based on the detected abnormality; detects a plurality of stop point candidates which exist in a traveling direction of a vehicle; estimates a time period required to reach each of the stop point candidates; and sets a stop point, wherein the system is operable to set the stop point from one or more of the plurality of stop point candidates each satisfying a condition that the required time estimated with respect thereto is equal to or less than the target time period.
