An airflow direction plate elongated in a direction perpendicular to a direction of an air flow from an indoor fan is disposed between the indoor fan and an air supply duct opening. The airflow direction plate has air vents arranged in a longitudinal direction, inclined plates each disposed to a corresponding one of the air vents and having different angles of inclination corresponding to positions of the air vents, and an acoustic material disposed on a surface facing the indoor fan. An indoor unit has a first air passageway allowing the air from the indoor fan to flow in the longitudinal direction of the airflow direction plate for a detour to the air supply duct opening and a second air passageway allowing the air from the indoor fan to flow into the air vents along the inclined plates.

The underframe is configured from a hollow shaped member formed from two face plates and a rib that connects the face plates to each other. The hollow member that configures the underframe includes a first upper side face plate arranged at a central portion in a widthwise direction of the underframe, a first lower side face plate arranged at the central portion in the widthwise direction of the underframe, a second upper side face plate arranged at an end portion in the widthwise direction of the underframe and positioned below the first upper side plate, a second lower side face plate arranged at the end portion in the widthwise direction of the underframe and positioned below the first lower side face plate, a third upper side face plate that connects the first upper side plate and the second upper side plate to each other, and a third lower side face plate that connects the first lower side face plate and the second lower side face plate to each other. A space is provided below the first lower side face plate, and a closing plate that connects adjacent end portions of a pair of the second lower side face plates to each other is arranged in the space.

A system is described comprising a first compressor for generating compressed air to feed a main tank and a main brake pipe of the railway vehicle through an air drying unit and a second compressor for compressing a refrigerant gas for an air conditioning system. The system comprises a single electric motor for generating a mechanical torque to be selectively supplied to the first compressor, or to the second compressor, or simultaneously to the first and second compressors, as a function of a) a first electrical signal generated by a pressure measurement device and indicative of a pressure present in the main brake pipe, or in the main tank, and b) at least a second electrical signal coming from the air conditioning system and indicative of a temperature or pressure or humidity value, and at least a third electrical signal indicative of a temperature of an environment.

Provided is an air conditioning system for a railway vehicle that is of a roof installation type. The air conditioning system includes a heat exchanger through which at least air inside the railway vehicle passes, and an ultraviolet-ray irradiation device. The heat exchanger and the ultraviolet-ray irradiation device are arranged between an upper cover curved in an upwardly protruding shape and a bottom plate. The heat exchanger has an air suction surface arranged so as to be irradiated with ultraviolet rays generated by the ultraviolet-ray irradiation device. A member that does not transmit the ultraviolet rays is arranged on a straight line interconnecting the ultraviolet-ray irradiation device and an interior space of the railway vehicle.

A detector detects physical quantities relating to an operation of a vehicle air-conditioning device at a predetermined sampling frequency to generate groups of time-series data items. A volatile tracking memory has a work area to which the groups of time-series data items for a tracking period is writable. A record holding power accumulator supplies, to the tracking memory, power used for holding in the work area the groups of time-series data items. A writer sequentially overwrites the groups of time-series data to the work area of the tracking memory and stops overwriting of the groups of time-series data items to the work area when an abnormality occurs in the vehicle air-conditioning device.
