Combined device having device for connecting cross beam for receiving pivot pins and two lower longitudinal beams of coach body for rail vehicle

A device for connecting a cross member for receiving pivot pins on two lower longitudinal members of a car body for a rail vehicle. The cross member has a transversal part that connects the two longitudinal members to each other in the region of the connection, and a longitudinal part that extends to the closest car front. The lower longitudinal members extend over the complete length of the car body and consist of multi-chamber hollow profiles made of a fibre composite material. The number of chambers of the multi-chamber hollow profile of each longitudinal member is reduced in the region of the connection such that the wall material of at least one chamber was removed in such a way that the webs to the adjacent chambers are exposed. At these places, load-introducing elements engage, to which load-introducing elements the cross member is attached.

Rail Vehicle

A rail vehicle includes a roof structure that configures an upper face, a side structure that configures a side face, a gable end structure that configures an end face in a longitudinal direction, and an underframe that configures a lower face. The underframe is configured from a hollow shaped member formed from two face plates and a rib that connects the face plates to each other. The hollow member that configures the underframe includes a first upper side face plate arranged at a central portion in a widthwise direction of the underframe, a first lower side face plate arranged at the central portion in the widthwise direction of the underframe, a second upper side face plate arranged at an end portion in the widthwise direction of the underframe and positioned below the first upper side plate, a second lower side face plate arranged at the end portion in the widthwise direction of the underframe and positioned below the first lower side face plate, a third upper side face plate that connects the first upper side plate and the second upper side plate to each other, and a third lower side face plate that connects the first lower side face plate and the second lower side face plate to each other. A space is provided below the first lower side face plate, and a closing plate that connects adjacent end portions of a pair of the second lower side face plates to each other is arranged in the space.

OPEN TOP GONDOLA RAILCARS
20230083126 · 2023-03-16 · ·

Open top gondola railcars and closure assemblies for cleanout openings of those railcars are disclosed. In some embodiments, the closure assembly includes a closure member sized to be received in a cleanout opening and to span a substantial portion of the cleanout opening to define at least one gap between a closure perimeter and a floor perimeter. The closure assembly additionally includes a sealing member fixedly attached to, or formed with, the closure member. The sealing member spans between the floor perimeter and the closure perimeter to cover the at least one gap. The closure assembly further includes a tethering member having opposed first and second end portions. The first end portion is fixedly attached to the closure member and the second end portion is attached to one of the floor or a cross bearer of the open top gondola railcar.

Underframe for a Rail Vehicle Car Body

A bolster structure is capable of securing a prescribed space between a bolster and an underframe, maintaining the rigidity of the bolster structure, and reducing its weight and cost. The bolster structure is provided on an underframe constituting a floor of a railroad vehicle, and is formed by joining a plurality of shaped members having a multi-layer structure in which a width direction of the structure body is an extrusion direction. The plurality of shaped members include: shaped members 15B and 15C having a region in which a part of layers on an underframe side is notched at a center of the structure body in the width direction; and shaped members including a fastening portion formed by notching a part of layers at both ends of the structure body in the width direction. A side beam of the underframe is fixed by the fastening portion.

Box Underframe End Structure of Railway Vehicle

A box underframe end structure of a railway vehicle includes an underframe boundary beam, an end beam, a front draft sill, and a coupler mounting seat, and further includes a rear end cross beam located on one side in a rear of the front draft sill, an end floor fixed between the end beam and the rear end cross beam, and a coupler cross beam fixed with the coupler mounting seat into a whole. A draft sill includes the front draft sill and a rear draft sill respectively arranged on a front side and a rear side of the coupler mounting seat. The coupler cross beam, the rear end cross beam, and the end floor are welded and fixed with the underframe boundary beam. The front draft sill, the rear draft sill, and the coupler cross beam are welded and fixed on a lower surface of the end floor.

RAILCAR

A railcar that allows a first end beam to move toward a second end beam when an intended load is input is provided. A railcar includes a fuse member that couples a first end beam to a second end beam along a car longitudinal direction, and the fuse member buckles when a load received in collision exceeds a predetermined value to allow the first end beam to move toward the second end beam, thus ensuring reduction of variation of the load that allows the first end beam to move toward the second end beam. Consequently, when the intended load is input, the first end beam is allowed to move toward the second end beam.
