High Density Thermal Storage Arrangement
An energy transportation and grid support system utilizes at least one transportable containment module capable of storing thermal or chemical energy typically produced from renewable or geothermal sources and providing connectivity with energy conversion equipment typically located in a land or sea-based operating facility. The system includes circuitry to hookup to an adjacent electricity grid for the provision of grid support and/or piping to move thermal energy typically used to drive steam turbines generating electricity. The operating facility also includes a communication arrangement to link with and exchange operations control data with a grid or heating operator and the energy transportation operator. The invention is directed to both apparatus and method for the energy transportation and grid support system.

BRAKING SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
A braking system for a vehicle may include a regulating device disposed between a braking device and a pressure agent source that causes the braking device to move. The regulating device may include a slide having an internal chamber with a supply port, a venting port, and a regulating port opening into the internal chamber and through which a pressure agent from the pressure agent source may flow. The regulating port can be located between the supply port and the venting port. Each of the supply port and the venting port may have a general cross-section for passage of the pressure agent substantially having a shape with at least one apex.
Kinetic Energy Converter For A Pneumatic Transportation System
The kinetic energy converter is coupled to a bogie of a pneumatic propulsion vehicle for a transportation system of passengers and cargo. The kinetic energy converter (6) is mounted in at least one of the axle sets (4) of the bogie structure (1). The kinetic energy converter (6) is comprised of an electric generator provided with a housing (10) where an electric generator rotor (16) spins, provided with a rotor pulley (15) moved by a belt (11) driven by a freewheel pulley (14) mounted on a drive shaft (13) provided with shaft ends (25) which are mounted onto wheel hubs (24) of the bogie structure (1). The axle set (4) is comprised of guide tubes (7) whose internal ends have flanges (8) which are connected to the supports (9) of the electric generator housing (10).

Module active response system
The invention relates to the supplemental generation of energy from a vehicle operation, and specifically to the generation of energy in connection to a vehicle's disc brakes in combination with brushless electric motor-generators. The aim of the invention is to provide a solution making it possible to provide a generator and a disc brake having a compact structure.
SELF-CONTAINED POWER SOURCE FOR RAILCARS
Example embodiments relate to implementing self-contained power sources for railcars. A railcar may include an air turbine that comprises a generator. The air turbine converts mechanical energy received from air to electrical energy by way of the generator. In some implementations, the air turbine is selectably coupled to the air brake system of the railcar and can convert mechanical energy received from pressurized air of the air brake system. The railcar can further include a pneumatic valve and a controller that can cause the pneumatic valve to open when the air pressure of the air brake system is at or above a predetermined level. Opening the pneumatic valve provides pressurized air to the air turbine from the air brake system and/or an exhaust pipe. The air turbine is a Wells turbine or a ram air turbine in some examples.
