NETWORK SYSTEM OF RAILCAR
The present invention provides a network system of a railcar, the network system being capable of efficiently performing maintenance work. One example of the network system of the railcar of the present invention includes: intra-car networks (N1 to N3) to which first and second apparatuses are connected; an inter-car network (NA) for transmission of information between the apparatuses mounted on different cars; routers (R1 to R3) each provided and connected between the corresponding intra-car network (N1 to N3) and the inter-car network (NA) and each including a network address translation portion configured to mutually convert a private address of the first apparatus and an IP address of the inter-car network (NA); and a maintenance transmission path forming unit configured to form a transmission path through which the transmission and reception of the information are performed between a maintenance terminal (5) and a maintenance target apparatus selected from the first and second apparatuses, the transmission path not passing through the network address translation portion of the car on which the maintenance target apparatus is mounted.
Enhanced transit location systems and methods
A computer-implemented method comprises: receiving, at a first one of the first electronic devices, a first wireless signal transmitted by a second electronic device attached to a vehicle; transmitting, from the first electronic device, a second wireless signal, wherein the second electronic device determines a location of the vehicle along the transportation pathway according to the second wireless signal; receiving, at the first electronic device, a third wireless signal transmitted by a second electronic device, wherein the third wireless signal identifies the determined location of the vehicle; and transmitting, from the first electronic device, a fourth wireless signal, wherein the fourth wireless signal identifies the determined location of the vehicle, wherein other ones of the first electronic devices wirelessly relay fifth wireless signals along the transportation pathway, wherein the fifth wireless signals identify the determined location of the vehicle.
Systems and methods for communicating information associated with wind pressures
In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, by a controller, one or more signals from the one or more pressure transducers. The one or more pressure transducers are coupled to one or more pressure lines, the one or more pressure lines are coupled to one or more probes, and the one or more probes coupled to a vehicle. The method also includes converting, by the controller, the one or more signals to one or more digital signals. The method further includes calculating, by the controller, a wind velocity relative to the vehicle using the one or more digital signals.
Non-stop train with attaching and detaching train cars
A non-stop train system including a plurality of train cars in communication with one another and in communication with an electronic control module. The train system includes a track or any number of parallel tracks having a plurality of drop off and pick up locations. A prepositioned train car is stopped at one of the drop off and pick up locations. A non-stop express train approaches and passes by the drop off and pick up location on the track initiating the prepositioned train car to begin departure. The electronic control module is used to adjust the speed of the non-stop express train and the prepositioned train car based on a detected distance such that a rear coupler of the non-stop express train couples to the front coupler of the prepositioned train car while moving along the track.
Display of signal devices and safety device of a railway vehicle
A method for displaying secondary signal devices for a driver of a railway vehicle during a journey by a railway vehicle. From a current vehicle position of the railway vehicle and an already known signal position of a secondary signal device, an actual distance of the railway vehicle in relation to the secondary signal device is determined. In the case that the actual distance is not reached in respect of a predefined current warning distance of the railway vehicle relative to the secondary signal device, a proximity of the railway vehicle relative to the secondary signal device is displayed to the driver.
BRAKE MONITORING SYSTEMS FOR RAILCARS
A system and method for detecting the operational status of a brake system on a railcar. The system receives from a sensor an indication of the magnitude of a braking force applied by the braking system in response to an instruction to increase or decrease the braking force. It compares the response to possible responses of the braking system in view of the instruction provided. Based on the comparison, the system generates at least one of a message and/or an alert indicating the status of the brake system. Additional sensors, including a pressure sensor on a brake pipe of the railcar, can be added for additional functionality.
Method for operating a rail vehicle
A method for operating a rail vehicle includes transmitting an identifier for a software component and/or an identifier for a hardware component of a control system of a rail vehicle. The identifier is transmitted from a computation unit of the rail vehicle to a stationary central computation unit, at least at one predetermined point in time.

A display device includes a drawing processing unit displaying a status of a device mounted on a train car, and a data collection unit including a signal definition holding unit holding signal definitions to be bases of first signals requesting information on the status of the device, a signal mapping management unit acquiring configuration information on the number of cars and a traveling direction, and generating the first signals, based on the signal definitions and configuration information to request information on the device status, a signal data storage unit holding a value of a second signal as information on the device status acquired by the signal mapping management unit's request, and a signal mapping generation unit generating signal mapping information for specifying the order of the cars on a display screen, based on the configuration information, and outputting the signal mapping information to the signal data storage unit.

The present invention pertains an overhead unit (1) for presenting information, gathering information, transferring information, lighting and/or alarm signals in an individualized manner in a carriage or fuselage, comprising a function module (2), a fixation module (3) for removably attaching the overhead unit to a rail, two receival modules (5a, 5b) for receiving signals, two transmission modules (4a, 4b) for sending messages and a processing module (6) for processing messages, whereby the receival modules and the transmission modules are operationally connected to the processing module, wherein the fixation module comprises a mechanical fixation system (7) configured to interlock with a fixation system of the rail, wherein the overhead unit comprises a proximal longitudinal end (9) and a distal longitudinal end (10), wherein the receival modules comprise a proximal receival module located at the proximal end of the overhead unit and a distal receival module located at the distal end of the overhead unit, whereby the receival modules each comprise a sensor, wherein the transmission modules comprise a proximal transmission module located at the proximal end of the overhead unit and a distal transmission module located at the distal end of the overhead unit, whereby the transmission modules each comprise a transmission source, wherein the processing module of the overhead unit is configured to receive signals via the receival modules from a neighbouring overhead unit or from a neighbouring control unit, and/or wherein the processing module of the overhead unit is configured to cause the transmission modules to send out signals to a neighbouring overhead unit and/or the control unit.

An operation status reproducing device includes an onboard information obtaining unit that obtains onboard information corresponding to date and time from an onboard device mounted on a designated train being a train specified by a train number and the date and time externally designated, a specific event detecting unit that specifies time at which a specific event occurs by analyzing the onboard information, a ground information obtaining unit that obtains ground information in a certain period including the time at which the specific event occurs from a ground device, an external information obtaining unit that obtains external information including weather information in a certain period including the time at which the specific event occurs, and a reproduction image generating unit that generates a reproduction image illustrating a past operation status of the designated train based on the onboard information, the ground information, and the external information.
