Vehicle-based device for receiving information from a track-based transmission device
A vehicle-based device for a vehicle, in particular a rail vehicle, includes a receiving device which, when passing a track-based transmission device, is configured for receiving a signal, which is at least also frequency-modulated, from the track-based transmission device. The vehicle-based device includes an evaluation device which is configured for generating a crosstalk warning, namely in accordance with signal levels at different frequencies of the received frequency-modulated transmission signal and/or in accordance with the frequency curve. A vehicle, in particular a rail vehicle, and a method for transmitting at least one piece of information from a track-based transmission device to a passing vehicle, in particular a rail vehicle, are also provided.
System and method for protecting a communication between a balise and a guided vehicle from cross-talk
An on-board device is configured for reading a telegram of a balise installed at a point along a route followed by a guided vehicle in which the on-board device is to be installed. The on-board device includes a receiver having an antenna for picking up the telegram transmitted by the balise and delivering a reception signal to a processing unit. The processing unit is configured for processing the reception signal in order to read the telegram sent by the balise. A test component is configured for adding a test signal to the reception signal before its processing by the processing unit. The test signal is configured to act as a noise for limiting a sensitivity of the receiver, making it therefore impossible to read a cross-talk signal. A method for protecting the on-board device from cross-talk is also provided.
Input of ETCS data into a rail vehicle
A method for inputting ETCS data into a rail vehicle inputs the ETCS data by using an apparatus which is separate from the rail vehicle. The apparatus can, for example, be constructed to be mobile and the ETCS data can be input flexibly at different locations and be transmitted to the rail vehicle, for example, by SMS. The advantage of this approach is that delays resulting from the inputting of ETCS data can be reduced and thus the rail vehicle reaches a “Start of Mission” state more quickly. An apparatus for inputting ETCS data into a rail vehicle and a rail vehicle with an ETCS device are also provided.

Methods and systems for signal fingerprinting
Systems and methods for modulating a telepowering signal in a downlink communication. Embodiments of the present invention provide a fingerprint module to generate a fingerprint signal that can be modulated with a telepowering signal for communication by a transmission module in a downlink communication. The fingerprint signal is reflected by a wayside equipment module and received by the transmission module to enable an additional communication other than the downlink communication and an uplink communication.
