Method and Device for Determining a Signal Aspect for a Rail Vehicle

A method for determining a signal aspect representing the vacant or occupied state of a track section for a rail vehicle, in particular a maintenance or construction vehicle, on a CBTC track. In this case, the rail vehicle does not have an on-board CBTC device. In order to dispense with special hardware, an app on a smartphone initiates the following steps: A) photographing of a track beacon in the direction of travel, B) determining the ID (identification signature) of the track beacon, C) transmitting of the track beacon ID to a CBTC track control centre and D) receiving of the signal aspect determined by the CBTC track control center for the track section starting with the track beacon.

An overhead railway and trolley for transporting miners out of a mine. The railway is formed by connected rails that are mounted to a roof of a mine. The trolley is mounted to a bottom flange of the rails and includes wheel assemblies having at least two wheels mounted side-by-side, and each is configured to engage and roll along a top surface of the bottom flange. The trolley has a clicker that is configured to engage protrusions extending away from the bottom flange. The clicker permits the trolley to travel out of the mine but prevents it from traveling into the mine. The trolley also includes a pair of handles that are configured to be gripped by a miner standing on a floor of the mine as he travels from the beginning of the railway to the ending (i.e., the egress direction).

Fixed signage and method for use of same

A fixed signage (10) and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, a housing (22) having a window (24) is sized to house a sign (26) therein. A closure assembly (32), under the power of an actuator (112), is installed in the housing (22) to support a cover material (34). The cover material (34) is moveable by a moveable closure member (138) between a fully retracted position whereat the cover material (34) is contained within the housing (22) such that the window (24) is exposed to a fully extended position whereat the cover material (34) covers at least a portion of the window (24). A command signal (180) may be received via a transceiver (160) to remotely control the actuator (112) and cover material (34). A signal sensor (60) within the housing (22) indicates the location of the cover material (34).

Concealed asset locator

A concealed asset locator includes an enclosure with multiple external surfaces, wherein an external surface is configured as reflective surface, an electric notification device, a receiver relay positioned inside the enclosure and electrically coupled to the notification device, wherein the receiver relay is configured to activate the notification device in response to a received transmitter signal.

Reflective devices are disclosed, which may be used on railroad tracks to identify the location of culverts beneath the train track. A reflective device may include a body member having a first longitudinal attachment flange, a first inclined section, a second inclined section, and a second longitudinal attachment flange. The first inclined section may extend upwardly away from the first longitudinal attachment flange at a first angle. The second inclined section may extend upwardly away from the second longitudinal attachment flange at a second angle. An upper edge of the first inclined section and an upper edge of the second inclined section may form a peak defined by a third angle. Upper surfaces of the first and second inclined surfaces may be coated with a reflective material. Upper surfaces of the first and second inclined surfaces may have sections of reflective material attached thereto.
