AXLE MOUNTED TIRE SHRAPNEL CONTAINMENT SHIELD
20220363319 · 2022-11-17 · ·

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a tire containment device securely mounted to an axle of a vehicle to contain shrapnel caused by a tire blowout. In an illustrative example, the tire containment device may include an axle bracket and a tire fender. The axle bracket, for example, may be mounted to an axle of the vehicle. The tire fender may, for example, have a substantially continuous containment cavity. In some examples, when the tire fender is coupled to a vehicle axle by the axle bracket, the containment cavity may extend over at least a top and an exterior face of an upper third of a diameter of a tire. For example, the containment cavity may substantially intercept shrapnel from failure of the tire before it reaches a body of the vehicle. Various embodiments may advantageously reduce damage to a body of the vehicle during a tire blowout.

It is disclosed a height control system with respect to the ground of wheel protective frame 40 for working vehicle 10 for an agricultural applicator, wherein the wheel protective frame 40 is mounted on the wheel 14, 16 by means of at least one bearing 53,54 aligned with the center of rotation of the vehicle wheel, and a position guide 55 which is associable with the upper cast 50 of the suspension by means of a pin 56 to prevent rotation of the protective frame 40 and also maintain the position of the protective frame 40 at any height that the suspension of the vehicle is. The position guide 55 comprises a geometry oriented vertically and compatible with the path travelled by the first end 521 of a damping element 52, which is associated with the center of the wheel 14, 16.

Debris guard for use with vehicle transport trailers

A road debris system and apparatus for use with a car or vehicle transport trailer. Embodiments include a transport trailer coupled to a truck. A plurality of resistive mounting brackets are attached to the truck. Embodiments also include a plurality of cantilever rods, a first end of each of the cantilever rods attached to one of the plurality of mounting brackets. The second end of each of the plurality of cantilever rods extend away from the respective mounting bracket. A debris guard is coupled to the plurality of cantilever rods such that an edge of the debris guard distal from the mounting bracket may articulate up and down, and such that an end of the debris guard adjacent a front of the transport trailer may articulate up and down. The debris guard is dimensioned to fill a gap between a back end of the truck and the front of the transport trailer.

TRACTOR WITH MOVABLE MUDGUARD DEVICE
