SEMI-TRAILER FOR TRANSPORTING A LOAD TO BE MOVED
A semi-trailer for transporting a load to be moved has a wheeled front module having a right-hand front row and a left-hand front row of front bogies each provided with a respective hydraulic suspension driven by its own hydraulic cylinder; a wheeled rear module comprising a right-hand rear row and a left-hand rear row of rear bogies each provided with a respective hydraulic suspension driven by its own hydraulic cylinder; a coupling unit of the wheeled front module for the coupling to a tractor and comprising a pair of hydraulic jacks for transferring a part of the load to be moved to the tractor; a first hydraulic unit interposed between the hydraulic cylinders of the front and rear rows of bogies and configured in such a way that the sum of the instantaneous load-supporting pressures acting on the hydraulic cylinders of the right front row and of the cylinders of the left-hand rear row is equal to the sum of the instantaneous pressures controlling the cylinders of the left-hand front row and of the cylinders of the right rear row; and a second hydraulic unit configured to control the hydraulic jacks based on the sum of the instantaneous load-supporting pressures acting on the hydraulic cylinders of said right front row and of said left-hand front row.
TANDEM WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND TANDEM WHEEL KIT
A tandem wheel assembly or kit has a housing that includes a central chain box, a first wheel end casing, and a second wheel end casing. The central chain box has an internal volume extending between a first box end and a second box end, a unitary pivot portion having a box opening disposed about a pivot axis, a first box flange with a first box flange face and a second box flange with a second box flange face. The first wheel end casing has a first wheel end flange with a first wheel end flange face mateable with the first box flange face, a first wheel end opening, and defines a first length. The second wheel end casing has a second wheel end flange with a second wheel end flange face mateable with the second box flange face, a second wheel end opening, and defines a second length.
Container transport system
A container transport system and method of operation can include: providing a vehicle having a subframe assembly coupled thereto, the subframe assembly including a lifting arm and a clamping arm; clamping the clamping arm onto a corner fitting of a cargo container; raising the lifting arm for raising a portion of the cargo container; inserting a jack stand below the cargo container; lowering the lifting arm for tilting the cargo container on the jack stand, the jack stand configured as a fulcrum; positioning a container trailer below the cargo container; and raising the lifting arm for pivoting the cargo container on the jack stand and lowering the cargo container onto the container trailer.
BOGIE FOR A LOWBOY TRAILER
A bogie for a lowboy trailer includes a pair of longitudinally extending main beams, each having a lower front end configured to be coupled to a lower deck, a higher rear portion configured to carry a suspension system, and a sloped intermediate portion connecting the front end to the rear portion. The bogie also includes multiple transversely extending and longitudinally spaced cross-members connected between the main beams. Each of the cross-members is trough-shaped and has a pair of transversely spaced side sections and a midsection between the side sections, the side sections sloping downwardly toward the midsection such that a top surface of the midsection is lower than respective top surfaces of the main beams. Each side section of at least one cross-member intersects with a respective one of the main beams, such that at least a portion of each side section is located directly below the respective main beam.
