20230150604 · 2023-05-18 · ·

A foldable top tube assembly for a bicycle is provided. The assembly includes a seat post attachment terminus coupled to a first telescoping tubular member, and a headset assembly attachment terminus coupled to a second telescoping tubular member. The overall length of the folded top tube assembly may be about ⅓ the overall length of the fully extended top tube assembly. The assembly further includes a central, hinged tubular member having a first end sized to receive the first telescoping tubular member, and a second end sized to receive the second telescoping tubular member. The assembly may also include a first spring tending to resist extension of the first telescoping tubular member from the first end of the central, hinged tubular member, and a second spring tending to resist extension of the second telescoping tubular member from the second end of the central, hinged tubular member.

BIKE ADAPTER
20170341696 · 2017-11-30 ·

A bike adapter includes a tube composed of an inner tube and an outer tube which is slidably mounted to the inner tube. Two sleeves are respectively mounted to the inner and outer tubes. Each sleeve has an engaging member so as to release the inner/outer tube from the sleeve corresponding thereto. Two catchers are respectively connected to the inner and outer tubes. Each catcher has a catch end which is coated by a coat. A connection portion is formed to the catch end. Two insertions each have a connection end coated by another coat and has a slot. The insertion is securely inserted through the sleeve. The connection portion of the catcher is detachably engaged with the slot in the connection end of the insertion when moving the sleeves along the tube to form an opening between each catcher and each insertion.

Bicycle with compliant seat post interface

A bicycle includes front and rear wheels, a frame supported on the front and rear wheels, and a seat post. The frame includes a seat tube having an upper end with a rear wall and a side wall, and the seat post is positioned at least partially inside the seat tube and is secured to the seat tube at a securing location spaced from the upper end. The rear wall of the upper end of the seat tube is spaced from the seat post by a first gap, and the side wall of the upper end of the seat tube is spaced from the seat post by a second gap that is smaller than the first gap. The seat tube has an effective length from a crank axis to the upper end, and the securing location is preferably spaced from the upper end by a distance that is at least 5% of the effective length.

A bicycle rear derailleur includes a movable member and a chain guide assembly rotatably connected to the movable member. The bicycle rear derailleur also includes a pivot member non-rotatably coupled to the chain guide assembly and having an outer annular surface, a biasing device configured to bias the chain guide assembly in a first rotational direction relative to the movable member, and a damper device disposed between the chain guide assembly and the movable member. The damper device is operable to apply a damping force to the chain guide assembly when the chain guide assembly rotates in a second rotational direction relative to the movable member. The damper device includes a friction device that is radially inner relative to the biasing device. The friction device includes a friction member having at least one friction surface biased against and in frictional engagement with the pivot member.

Bicycle frame with passive seat tube pivot joint

A bicycle frame assembly that includes an upper frame member and a lower frame member that each extend between a head tube and a dropout. A seat tube extends between the upper frame member and the lower frame member. The seat tube is preferably connected to a bottom bracket of the lower frame member and is connected by a pivot to the upper frame member so that the seat tube can deflect from a rest position without altering an orientation of a top tube to a bottom tube of the upper and lower frame members, respectively.
